Show Organization Of C. of C. Set For September 13 September 13 has been set as the date when the various committees will report to a general gen-eral mass meeting of Roosevelt business and professional men and women and the organization of a Chamber of Commerce will be started, so reports a special committee named several weeks ago to study and plan for such an eventuality. According to J. V. McLea, temporary chairman of the Chamber of Commerce meetings held to date, the committee composed com-posed of Cliff Memmott, chairman, chair-man, E. J. Nixon, Howard Harm-ston, Harm-ston, L. L. Pack, Albert Harris, Paul Murphy and Mr. McLea. met Tuesday night and, as directed di-rected by the last meeting on Aug. 16, selected three major committees who will be prepared pre-pared to make reports and recommendations rec-ommendations at the September 13 meeting. Appointed on the By-Laws and Charter committee were R. Earl Dillman, chairman, Albert Harris, Marrell Wilkins, Howard Ivory, Robert Montgomery, Richard Rich-ard Owen and Alva Snow; Election Elec-tion and Nominations committee, Dr. Paul Stringham, chairman, Cliff Memmott, Theron Leavitt, Ben ' Turner, Dwain Buchanan, Harold Timothy and Bob Fer-ron; Fer-ron; Objectives committee. Howard How-ard Harrison, chairman, Mr. McLea, Mc-Lea, Bennie Schmiett. Tommy Gabbert, Gordon Harmston, E. J. Nixon, Ed Labrum and Thure Carlson. |
