Show Two Myton Girls Awarded USAC Scholarships MYTON (Special) The 8th annual Girls' State session at Lbgan, Utah, closed Sunday, when the 190 girls who attended attend-ed Girls' State received certificates certi-ficates and Girls' State pins and participated in the closing session. ses-sion. Twenty-one girls were awarded scholarships to Utah State Agricultural College. The awards were given to participants partici-pants an the basis of service and worthiness as 'the 1954 event concluded. Among these 21 girls, the honor was extended to the two delegates from Myton, sponsored spon-sored by Wm. R. Sands Unit No'. 5, of Myton, Miss Alyce Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Smith, and Miss Sally Burgess, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Burgess. The American Amer-ican Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 5 is justly proud of their two delegates, as are also the host of friends of Miss Smith and Miss Burgess. The office of judge of Washington Wash-ington City was also an honor bestowed on Miss Burgess. Both girls will be seniors at Union High School next term and will graduate with the class of, 1955. |
