Mrs. Florell Collins and Mrs. Af-ton Af-ton Brighton had it in charge. Primary officers and teachers held a candy sale at Primary on Tuesday and took in $11.00. The first day last week of selling sell-ing Savings Stamps at Alterra was very successful. Mrs. Wanda Mangus received a phone call from her husband, Norman, Nor-man, asking her to come to Treasure Trea-sure Island to spend some time with him. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook attended at-tended funeral services for Mrs. Henry Green at Vernal one day last week. Miss Wanda Sprouse, daughter! of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Sprouse, went to Salt Lake City last week to attend the wedding reception of the former Cleo Allred. Kirk Allred, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire. Mrs. Earl Winn entertained a group of youngsters for her daughter, Shirley's birthday, on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl McKenna, who are now residing at Provo, spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. McKenna's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd. Mrs. Elton Kettle presented the Social Science lesson at Relief Society last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmar Parrish and sons were visitors at White-rocks White-rocks last Sunday. Word has been received that Glen Eldredge has enrolled at the BYU for the winter quarter. He and his wife are living in Provo. Glen was recently released from the U. S. armed forces. Mar Ross and daughter, Donna, of Layton, spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Ross. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins and family were dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Jenkins' mother, Mrs. Lelia Merkley, at Vernal on Sunday, Jan. 23. Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Halverson, of Neola, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bingham on Sunday. Fifteen of the officers and teachers of the ward Primary, attended at-tended the stake Primary Prepar-; ation meeting on Saturday. A. C. Call and Mrs. Zelph Cald-er, Cald-er, of Vernal, visited at the Alterra Alter-ra School last week on business. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shisler and two daughters were dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mont Poulson at Duchesne on Sunday. Miss Afton Mangum accompanied accompan-ied her sister-in-law, Mrs. Norman Mangum, to Salt Lake City, on Thursday. Bernard Larsen accompanied Erie Hatch on a trip to New Mexico Mex-ico last week. Miss Virginia Jenkins, Marion Gardner and Billy Jean Brisbin attended at-tended a birthday party in honor of Miss JoAnn Walker in Roosevelt Roose-velt one evening last week. |
