Show Isabelle Forsythe Observes 00th Birthday Feb, 6th Mrs. Isabelle Forsythe will be honored on her 80th birthday, February 6, when her daughter, Mrs. Murel Benson will hold open house at her Roosevelt home from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Mrs. Forsythe was born Feb. 6, 1875 in Panaca, Nevada to John Lund and Mary Ann Neilson Lund. They moved to Richfield when she was four years of age. She married William Roe Forsythe in the Manti L.D.S. Temple Sept. 10, 1894 and the couple lived in Bicknell, Wayne County, until 1918, when they moved to the Uintah Basin and settled in Myton. For 30 years Mrs. Forsythe was a practical nurse and delivered approximately ap-proximately 200 babies. She was called to all parts of the newly settled Basin to give aid to the sick. She was a counselor in the Myton Relief Society for 15 years, and has been a visiting teacher for 60 years. She was also active in the Sunday School organization. Her husband passed away June 9, 1948 and since 1950 she has been living with her daughter in Roosevelt. Mrs. Forsythe is still active-in the church and travels frequently to California to visit some of her children. She and Mr. Forsythe were the parents of 11 children, six of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. Naoma Benson, Roosevelt; Roose-velt; Mrs. Harold (Melba) Kienly, Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Lester (Nel-da) (Nel-da) Low, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Ted (Montest) Miles, San Diego, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Zirker, San Diego, Calif.; and Lund Forsythe, American Fork, Utah. She has 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She has one sister, Mrs. Christine Woodard, New Hall, Calif. |
