Show hmB Whiterocks, Utah Feb. 5, 1951 Editor, Roosevelt Standard: The community of Whiterocks has finished its polio March of Dimes drive. Today Whiterocks is forwarding to the county chairman of the drive a check In the amount of $91.71. Whiterocks tried a new experiment ex-periment this year. A benefit dance was scheduled and held on January 27. In connection with the dance, a food sale supported sup-ported by contributions of cakes, sandwiches and pies by members mem-bers of the community and the Whiterocks ward was a very successful money raiser. The benefit dance was conceived with the idea that half of its proceeds would go to the March of Dimes, a fourth to the Cancer Can-cer Drive and a fourth to the Heart Fund. We cleared money as follows: Dance and food sale .... $127.50 Polio contributions 26.00 Heart and cancer contrib . 3.00 Polio counter bank 3.71 TOTAL $160.21 Of the above amount, the Polio Drive received $91.71, the Heart Fund and Cancer Drive will each receive $34.25. As local chairman of the Polio Drive I wish to express the aDDreciation of the White rocks community to Roy Adams, principal of the Uintah Boarding Board-ing School for his help by providing, pro-viding, free of cost, the Indian school gymnasium; to Ed Faulkner Faulk-ner for sending his fine orchestra orches-tra made up of Barbara Hul-linger, Hul-linger, Albert Daniels, Jason Cuch, Pamp Harris, Wilson Gutzman, Julius Murray and Harris Murray; to the Whiterocks White-rocks ward and the ladies of the community for the" fine array ar-ray of pies and cakes; to the local citizens of this community and to the Ute Tribe for the fine support given the sale and dance; and finally to those who helped with all of the messy details de-tails of preparing the gym and cleaning it up afterwards. To them goes a generous share of the success of the benefit party. Very truly yours, Robert L. Marimon Local chairman March of Dimes |
