Show SOIL-AVERS SOIL-AVERS BY THOMAS B. EVANS Uinlah Basin Soil Conservation District News Zelph Calder has leveled 25 acres of land on Diamond Mountain Moun-tain to a uniform grade. He plans to plant it to irrigated pasture during 1952. He has also built five livestock reservoirs, and cleared 200 acres of sage brush land on which he will plant fall wheat. SCS Willis Stevens has built six new livestock reservoirs on Upper Up-per Willow Creek. These reser voirs will assist Mr. Stevens materially ma-terially in distributing his cattle cat-tle more uniformly over his upper up-per range. ' s C s Frank Brewer has built four new stock , reservoirs on his range on Bitter Creek and Upper Up-per Willow Creek. SCS Dan Freed has seeded 30 acres of his range at Ouray to Intermediate Inter-mediate Wheat grass. Mr. Freed has made a practice of seeding so many acres of range to grass each year. He is also constructing construct-ing a series of ditches on his range lands to spread the water. |
