The couple receivd congratulations at a reception given in their honor Tuesday, May 29, at the Ioka Ward Chapel Reception At Ioka LDS Ward Chapel Honors Newlyweds, Tuesday, May 29 Mr and Mrs. Jay C. Gates, nee Miss Sheryl Romae Drollinger, were complimented at a lovely wedding reception Tuesday evening, eve-ning, May 29, at the Ioka ward chapel, presided over by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford E. Drollinger, parents par-ents of the bride. The young couple cou-ple pledged vows May 3 in Salt Lake City. The groom is the son of Mrs. Carl Carlson of Pleasant Grove. For the reception the bride appeared ap-peared in a waltz length bridal gown of white nylon tulle, accented ac-cented with rhinestones and chan-tilly chan-tilly lace floating over regal satin. The veil was of dramatic imported import-ed French illusion edged with French Chantilly lace, and cascaded cas-caded from a flattering face-framing orange blossom tiara. Her bridal bouquet was of red roses and white carnations tied with white satin streamers. Bidden as bridesmaids were Miss JoLene Robison of Ioka, who wore a pate pink net and taffeta ballerina dress; Miss Connie Bas-tian Bas-tian of Neola, attired in a turquoise tur-quoise ballerina formal, and Miss Maurine Yack of Roosevelt, also gowned in a ballerina length dress of pink net and taffeta. Gowns of the three attendants were accented accent-ed with pink carnation corsages. Mother of the bride chose an after-five dress of dusty hose Chantilly lace and the groom's mother wore a pink linen sheath. White carnation corsages tied with pale green ribbon complimented compli-mented their costumes. Assuming best duties was Niel Duncan of Neola. Greeting guests with the bride and groom were Mr. and Mrs. Drollinger,; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen, the bride's attendants and the best man. Cecil Jenkins was master of ceremonies for the occasion and introduced the following numbers: vocal selection, "Those Wedding Bells Are Breaking Up That Old Gang of Mine," Bennie Schmiett, Garrett Stone, Ned Gines and James Lemon; two readings, Mrs. Bertha Angus; saxophone solo, Bonnie Daniels, accompanied by Rosemary Shields; song, "I'm Glad," Marilyn and Steven Drollinger; Drol-linger; vocal solo, "Always," Beverly Bev-erly Anderson. An impressive climax cli-max to the program was a vocal solo, "We Two," sung by Ned Gines as the bride and groom cut the wedding cake. Accompanist was Mrs. Randal Russell. The beautiful three-tiered wedding wed-ding cake, made by Mrs. Garrett Stone, was decorated in pink and white and surrounded with roses and silver edged bells. The traditional tra-ditional miniature bride and groom topped the cake. In charge of serving were Mrs. Russell Robison, Mrs. Ralph Dart, Mrs. Ken Workman Work-man and Mrs. Arden Drollinger. Attending the gift room were Mrs. Cecil Jenkins and Miss Caroyln Gates i Guest book signing was directed' by Mrs. James G. Bielfuss, aunt, of the bride. The newlyweds are making their home in Roosevelt, for the present. Mr. Gates plans to attend college next fall. A post-nuptial event was held in honor of the couple the folr lowing day, when Mr. and Mrs. Drollinger entertained at a family dinner at their home in Ioka. Guests included Mrs. Nancy Drollinger, Drol-linger, Mrs. Ken Workman, Gil and Connie;, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Bielfuss, Georgia and Nancy, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dart, Glenn, Ralph, Beth and Roger; Mr. and Mrs. Don Drollinger and Mr and Mrs Arden Drollinger. |
