Show I .... ... - Golden Gleaner Award 1 Goes To Arcadia Woman ' .. i ft GOLDEN GLEANER Mrs. Wa Dean Workman Horrocks was recently presented with a golden gleaner award in the Duchesne Du-chesne Stake for 1956. She is a member of Arcadia ward. Mrs. Ida Dean Workman Horrocks Hor-rocks 'of the Arcadia ward has been presented with the 1956 Golden Gleaner award in the Duchesne Du-chesne Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. Horrocks has worked for more than 20 years in the various auxiliary's of the church. Her work began at age 14 in the Primary organization. She holds a ten-year certificate in Primary work. More than 15 years service has been given by Mrs. Horrocks in the Mutual Improvement Association and more than, 15' years in the Relief Society organization. She has been secretary and teacher in the Arcadia ward Sunday School. In the Relief Society, she has worked as counselor, visiting teacher, magazine representative and class leader. She was secretary secre-tary in the Primary organization. In the MIA she has worked as counselor, Gleaner leader in both Arcadia ward and Duchesne stake and as Arcadia ward Mia Maid leader. Currently she is serving as Mia Maid leader, literature-leader literature-leader in the Relief Society, Sunday Sun-day School teacher, all in the Arcadia ward. Besides church duties, Mrs. Horrocks has been postmaster in (Continued on Back Page) GOLDEN GLEANER AWARD (Continued from Page 1) Arcadia for the past 13 years. She is now captain of the Red Ante View Camp of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Mrs. Horrocks was bom August 26, 1908, a daughter of J. Vm. Workman and Elsie Dean Ander-son Ander-son Workman. She married Clarence Horrocks at Heber, Utah, March 16, 1934. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of a daughter and a son, Marva Mae and Evan. Last Tuesday night, the Mia Maids of the Arcadia ward presented pre-sented Mrs Horrocks with a beautiful friendship quilt, at the close of the past two years' work with them |
