Joe Hopi, native of New Zealand, and active church worker, was the featured fea-tured speaker at both meetings. According to Mr. Bacon most of the missionaries from Uintah, Roosevelt, and Moon Lake stakes who have been called into the Indian missionary service, ser-vice, and presidents of the stakes, Archie Johnson. Hollis Hullinger and William Brother-son, Brother-son, attended the conferences. The latter three were listed as speakers along with Mr. Bacon, Mr. Buchanan and several of the missionaries. Not able to attend at-tend was Pres. Hale Holgate of the Duchesne stake, Mr. Bacon announced that the mission "became one year old on Oct. 25, and that during the year 21 members of the Indian In-dian race in this area had made application for and had been Baptized and each1 is a faithful member of the church. Mr. Buchanan praised the work of the missionaries and the fine response from the Indians In-dians who had received the missionaries mis-sionaries and were heeding their teachings. An impressive appeal was made by Albert Harris, a member mem-ber of the Indian race, who recently re-cently became a high councilman council-man in the Roosevelt stake, to his people to heed the advice and council of the missionaries. "They speak the truth when they tell you about the advantages advan-tages the gospel offers," he said. |
