Show This Week's RECIPE . . . For an accompaniment for the salad recipe published last week, Mrs. Garth Tietjen submitted the following "Nippy Cheese Appetizers" Appetiz-ers" recipe this week. NIPPY CHEESE APPETIZERS Measure into a mixing bowl: y2 cup soft butter or margarine 2 cups grated American cheese (not commercially grated) y2 tsp. Worchestershire sauce 1 tsp. dry mustard 1 tsp. grated onion y2 tsp. salt Beat until mixture is soft and well blended. Add l'i cups sifted all-purpose flour. Mix to a stiff dough. Measure dough by level tablespoon. Roll each spoonful into a ball and place on ungreased cooky sheet. Press down lightly with tines of a fork. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes in a phe-heated oven 350 deg., or just until very lightly browned. Remove from oven and serve warm to accompany salads or chilled tomato juice. Makes about 2'2 dozen. These cheese tempters have a very thin crisp outer crust and a soft, slightly moist interior. They may be reheated, if desired. |
