GOP Deadline To Fife For County Offices Is July 21 t Final day for members of the Republican Party in Duchesne County to file declaration of candidacy can-didacy for elective offices this fall is July 21, states Porter L. Merrell, county clerk. The county nominating convention for the Republicans Re-publicans in Duchesne county will be held at 10 a.m., August 11, in the courtroom in Duchesne. Incumbent Republican officers are William N. Brotherson, Bon-eta, Bon-eta, completing another two-year tearm in the State Legislature; Floyd E, Lamb, Roosevelt and Myton, completing his four-year term as county commissioner. He is presently serving as commission commis-sion chairman. Elmer R Moon, Duchesne, who was appointed last month to fill the unexpired two-year two-year term as county commissioner commission-er of the late Clinton J Mickel-son. Mickel-son. Another office for which declarations de-clarations of candidacy, may be received by the county clerk at Duchesne is for state senator for a four-eyar term. He will represent repre-sent Duchesne and Wastach counties. B. H. Stringham of Vernal, a Republican, has represented repre-sented Duchesne county the past two years. He will still serve from Uintah and Daggett counties, coun-ties, and a new senator will be elected to serve the new senatorial senator-ial district comprising Duchesne and Wasatch. Other Candidates Other offices for which candidates candi-dates are to be nominated at the regular primary election Tuesday, Sept.. 11, 1956, and for which Duchesne county voters- will cast a ballot, include: A senator to represent the State of Utah in the Congress of the United States for a term of six years; one representative re-presentative to represent the First Congressional District of the State of Utah in the Congress of the United States Tor a term of two (Continued on Back Page) GOP DEADLINE . . .
