''is 1- . - GET NEW CALL FROM CHURCH Ray E. and Mildred Dillman of Roosevelt, last Thursday were called and set apart by the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to preside over the Hawaiian Temple as president, and director of the Bureau of Information for the Islands. Former president of the Western States Mission, they will leave for their new assignment the latter part of February. Ray E. Dillman To Serve As Pres. Of Hawaii Temple A prominent religious, civic and political leader of Eastern Utah, Ray E. Dillman, and his wife, Mildred, last week were called and set apart by the first presidency presi-dency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to preside over the Hawaiian Temple as president, and to direct the' Bureau of Information operated by the church on the Islands. For nearly five "years the Dill-mans Dill-mans presided over the Western States mission with headquarters at Denver, being released early in 1954 to return to' their home in Roosevelt, where' he has continued his law practice. Prior to going to Denver Mr. Dillman was president presi-dent of the Roosevelt stake and had served as bishop of the Roos'e-velt Roos'e-velt ward. Mrs. Dillman had ako functioned in about every capacity capaci-ty in ward and stake that women are called to do. To Leave In February Definite date' of departure for their new field of labor is not definite, but will be sometime the latter part of next month. Early in December Mr.. Dillman was called call-ed as stake mission president for Roosevelt stake. He had been chairman- of the Roosevelt ward' building committee and was ward teaching instructor. His wife is serving as instructor in the special interest class and has been active in stake and ward Relief Society work since returning home. . The Roosevelt ward is planning a testimonial honoring the couple-on couple-on Sunday, Jan. 29, and the stake has announced a social for the Dillmans on Feb. 4 as the tentative tenta-tive date. |
