Show Ellen Bracken Phone 62062 Former Ballard Man Dies In Wreck Ballard residents were shocked over the news of the death of James Campbell in a car accident Saturday evening at Springville. His wife was also hurt critically. James lived at one time in Ballard Bal-lard and his wife was the former Helen Demos who taught at Al-terra Al-terra High School at one time. We extend our sincere sympathy sympa-thy to Mrs. Campbell and hope for her speedy recovery. We also just learned of the death of Crissie Campbell, mother of James Campbell, Camp-bell, about six weeks ago. The Campbells lived at Mapleton. Dennis Kettle, son of Mr., and Mrs. Elton Kettle,, was very ill at their home' all last week. At last reports he is somewhat improved. im-proved. PUPILS GIVE PROGRAM Clair Hollingsworth and his first grade pupils at Alterra, were taken to Vernal on Thursday, where they presented a very nice program. He had thirty'-four students at school that day. Mr. and Mrs. Nile Ainge, of Jensen Jen-sen were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Von Haslem one day last week.. The residents of Alterra and Ballard were shocked to learn of the death of Otis Horrocks of Bennett last week. Many from the ward attended his funeral in Roosevelt on Saturday. Ward Primary Preparation meeting meet-ing was held at the Boyd Winn home, Thursday evening, Jan. 12, with seventeen officers and teachers teach-ers present. Mrs. Nita White and Mrs, Osa Hullinger presented the lessons. Mrs; Ethel Ercanbrach assisted Mrs. Winn in serving refreshments. re-freshments. Mrs. Tom Shisler has been confined con-fined to her home with the flu, Mr. and . Mrs. Milton Poulson of Duchesne were callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shisler Shis-ler on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Parrish and three sons were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Don Simmons at Whiterocks one day last week. The boys from Ballard attending Seminary at Union High School, canvassed the ward on Saturday, gathering up papers and magazine's. maga-zine's. Mrs. Lydia Elder of Kingston is visiting at the home of her daughter daugh-ter and son-in-law, Mr, and Mrs1. Gareth Anderson. Earl Winn took his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie winn, to Salt Lake City on Friday. They plan to remain at the home of their daughter, Mrs. George Dean, where Mr, Winn would be nearer medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Morton Chandler of Aval'on visited at the home of Mrs. Chandler's parents, Mr. and' Mrs. "Tex" Ross on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Allred and baby of Salt Lake City were visitors' vis-itors' several days last week with Mrs Allred's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire. -Mary Margaret Horrocks, daughter daugh-ter of Mr, and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks Hor-rocks of Las Vegas, Nevada, was the guest of Charlotte Winn at her parents,' Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Winn's home several days last week. The Delbert Horrocks were here to attend funeral, services of Mr. Horrocks' brother, Mrs. Horrocks Hor-rocks was a former teacher at Alterra. |
