Show News From Roosevelt High By Joyce Burr Last Friday was a real holiday holi-day tor the students at R H S due to Parents' Day. Many' Roosevelt students went deer hunting or visited Alterra high Friday evening the high school gym was the scene of a successful Carnival Ball, sponsored spon-sored by the yearbook staff, under un-der the direction of Mrs. Virgie Murphy. Reigning at the gay event were LaRue Liddell and ii Snder' chosen as Cinderella Cinder-ella and Prince Charming. Of course, there was the traditional fish-pond and confetti throwing. An excellent assembly with a carnival theme was presented Thursday. The RoHi was responsible respon-sible for this assembly, one of the finest this, year. All week the yearbook staff has been selling subscriptions for this year's Rohi. They received re-ceived very good response.' The staff also wishes to thank the contributors of the "what-nots" for their fish pond. Monday morning, Mrs. Mur-Phy Mur-Phy s debate teams journeyed to Alterra and two teams presented pre-sented a formal debate for those students. Friday. Nov. 10, is the date for the annual Sadie Hawkins dance. This is the dance where the girls can ask their favorite .fellw for a date. This dance I and an assembly earlier in the , dav are sponsored by the staff of our school paper, the Roose-tonian. Roose-tonian. under the direction of Mrs. Wanda Riggle and Mr. Kim Smith. The report card system Is be. Ing revised this year. Although the customary six weeks grade has been sent home for parents' examination, the cards will now be issued at nine week intervals inter-vals the remainder of the year. The Maskers' club is preparing prepar-ing three one-act plays to be presented to the public soon. As yet, no definite date has been chosen. Watch for it. |
