Show School Finance Is Subject Of Ilivvanis Talk 1 Dean C. Christensen. superintendent super-intendent of schools for Duchesne Du-chesne county, was guest speaker- at the weekly meeting of the Roosevelt Kiwanis club last night at the Frontier Grill. He discussed the financial and business busi-ness phase of the operation of our schools and explained the sources from whence come the funds to maintain and operate the schools. Mr. Christensen made a plea to the membership of the club-to club-to support the completion of the Union high school, and pointed out the definite need for the ;unit to relieve school housing. He complimented the group on j their Kid's Day project and chal- I lenged them to sponsor other projects that will stimulate bet ter students and better schools. Under the direction of David Watkins, program chairman, Miss LaRue Liddell and Miss Treva Ann Gabbert each entertained enter-tained the group with tap dancing. danc-ing. They were accompanied by Mrs. Norman Murphy. Other guests of the club included Cpl. Phil Nelson, of the U. S. Air Corps, Fran Harrison and Lewis Taylor. President J. D. Walker presided pre-sided over the meeting, and committee reports revealed that two signs will be erected, one at each end of the city, designating desig-nating that Kiwanis meets on Wednesday evenings at the Frontier Grill at 7:30. |
