Show RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Ute Fish and Game Board was created under un-der an ordinance enacted in the Uintah and Ouray Tribal Business Bus-iness Committee, dated October 9, 1950. with certain delegated powers to regulate fish and game on the Uintah and Ouray Reservation, and, WHEREAS, it is a known fact that some members of the Ute Indian Tribe are abusing their hunting privileges by wantonly and needlessly killing pheasants without regard to number and sex, and particularly are killing young, helpless birds, and, WHEREAS, this practice is unethical and unsportsmanlike and which jeopardizes the independent Fish and Game program of the Ute Tribe, AND NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Ute Fish and Game Board that under the authority vested in Article H, Section E which provides for the imposing of restriction upon members of the Tribe in reference to hunting and fishing, that hunting of pheasants on the Uintah and Ouray Reservation by members of the Ute Tribe conform to the laws of the State of Utah as to season, bag limit, hours of hunting, etc. except that members of the Ute Tribe shall not be required to have a Utah State license to hunt game birds on the Uintah & Ouray Reservation.
