Show Jack Redmond Is Indiana Visitor A note received from Florence Flor-ence Redmond John, niece of Jack Redmond, indicated that Mr. Redmond arrived in El-Wood, El-Wood, Indiana, recently for a visit With his brother, Daniel D. Redmond, and other relatives, rela-tives, having traveled Iby way of Chicago, via train, bus, hip boots and waterwings. It was rumored that When he hit town he was barefoot, with his pants rolled above his knees, and was enjoying himself him-self immensely. Said he had seen a puddle ot two on the last lap of hlis trip. An interesting issue of the Chicago Daily Tribune accompanied accom-panied the letter, .with headlines, head-lines, "5.65 Inch Rain Hits City Biggest Fall in 69 Years Floods Homes." Pictures showing show-ing the flooded' area, where hundreds were driven from their homes and buildings were displayed on a full page of the paper, showing rescue crews, flooded homes. The rain literally literal-ly turned the airport into a seaplane sea-plane base. Transportation was disrupted, as well as many high-Ways high-Ways being flooded, telephone service cut off, viaducts closed, plants shut down, etc. Mr. Redmond will make an indefinite stay in Indiana, although al-though he arrived at the time of the terrific floods. |
