Show BASIN BRIEFS Mr. and Mrs. Darol Gardner and family returned to the Basin last week after spending the past five years in Hollister, California. Cal-ifornia. They plan t o make their home here, and in the meantime are staying in Ne-ola Ne-ola with Mr. Gardner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Les Gardner. Mrs. Anthon B. Christensen and son, Douglas, returned Tuesday Tues-day after spending a month in Provo with her mother. . a. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Timothy and sons, Barton and Deward, of Salt Lake City, spent the Easter Eas-ter weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sabe Timothy. Kent Nelson, a student at the B.Y.U.. and his guest, Miss Sarah Dunn, also a B.Y.U. student, stu-dent, spent the weekend with Kent's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Venil Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Ted Olpin motored to Vernal Friday to get . Mr. - Johnson's mother, who gpent the Easter holiday weekend week-end here. Mrs. C. P. Haynes, of Petersburg, Peters-burg, Va., is spending a two-month two-month vacation with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Seth Wilson. She is the former Mona Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wilkins motored to Salt Lake Sunday to visit their son, Cal, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Verland Nelson and daughters spent Easter with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Carter in Bingham Canyon. Mr. and Mrs, Dee Orser and family, Salt Lake City, spent the Easter holidays with Dee's parents, Senator and Mrs. Lynn Orser. Reta Hutcheon, Eva Sprouse, Desiree Spencer, Virginia Burton Bur-ton and Florence Percival spent the weekend in Salt Lake City. Among those who attended the LDS general conference last weekend in Salt Lake were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Hancock, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Collins, Howard Ivory, John Swenson, Dr. R. V. Larson, President Hollis Hul-linger, Hul-linger, Bishop and Mrs. Randall Stewart and family, Dr. aQd Mrs. Don Johnson, Dr, and Mrs. Vere Johnson, Bishop and Mrs. E. J. Nixon, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderton, Mrs. Martha Shanks, Arvin and Shanna Bellon, and John Aitken. Earl Mcrvenna ana nay jonn-ston jonn-ston visited in Salt Lake during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Halen went to Salt Lake Friday to spend the Easter weekend with the Birch's daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Learning. Learn-ing. All but Mrs. Halen returned re-turned to Roosevelt Sunday evening. eve-ning. She remained for a longer long-er visit. Wm. F. Wiscombe and his daughter, Mrs. Robert Gillespie, of Provo, visited here during the week with friends and relatives. rel-atives. Mr. Wiscombe is a former form-er Roosevelt resident, and Mrs. Gillespie taught at RHS where her husband served as principal. Mrs. Anna Roberts was rushed- to the Roosevelt hospital Wednesday night, suffering with pneumonia. Joanne Walton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Walton, was stricken with appendicitis last Monday at Burley, Idaho, while returning from a vacation trip to Seattle with her parents and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Hatch. Joanne Jo-anne was rushed to a Salt Lake hospital where an emergency appendectomy was performed. Mr. and Mrs. Hatch and Mr. Walton returned to Roosevelt the following day, while Mrs. Walton remained in Salt Lake to be with her daughter, returning return-ing to Roosevelt four days later. |
