Show Council May Drop Indian Days In Favor Of U.B.LC. Timothy, Larsen Get Marshal Posts; Clean-Up Work Pushed Roosevelt city councilmen Monday night expressed approval ap-proval of the proposal to drop Indian Days, provided the Roosevelt Roos-evelt and Alterra Young Farmers Farm-ers will substitute the name, "U.B.I.C.," for the proposed A. Day. Steve Bellon, chairman of the Indian Days committee, said that since many people have expressed opposition to dropping drop-ping the name, "Indian Days," considerable resentment would arise unless an equally well-known well-known name like the U.B.LC. were substituted in its place. He continued that under pres ent, pians a. uay ana inaian Days would come about the same time in August, and that the city cannot support both. In other actions, the council nominated Reece Timothy and Mont Larsen as Roosevelt city marshals. Each will alternate between be-tween night and daytime duty. Fire Chief Carl Hacking reported re-ported that Roosevelt citizens have not been cooperating too well in the city clean-up campaign, cam-paign, and asked that Mayor Homer P. Edwards, by proclamation, procla-mation, set aside time to speed up the drive. (Mayor Edwards requested Tuesday that business houses close Wednesday, April 19, from 3 to 6 p. m., so that employees may clean up around business houses and their homes.
