Show XeetcH-SehHett Mrs. Fern Houston Billie Haslem Is 4-H Envoy From Uintah Co. Billie Haslem was chosen from western Uintah county to attend the Older 4-H Club camp held at Logan July 5-6-7. Qualifications Qual-ifications for the trip were at least three years of outstanding outstand-ing work in 4-H, an age minimum min-imum of 14 years, and evidence of leadership ability. The camp is an annual event sponsored --(-KW ' by the U.S.A.C. extension ser-1 vice for the purpose of teach-1 ing leadership and crafts and to encourage 4-H club work. ! The young folks, having learned to conduct a 4-H club camp, will help work with the county 4-H encampment to be i held in Vernal August 15-16-17,1 under the direction of Freda Davis, county Home Demonstra-1 tion agent. While in LOg'an, Billie and Mary Ann King, of Vernal, took part in a radio discussion, which will be broadcast Monday at 12:15 p. m. Billie returned home Saturday and reports the most enjoyable time of his life. Sherron McKerma, of Salt Lake City, is visiting for the summer with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hall, of Lee ton. The spacious lawn of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Horrocks was the scene of fun and frolic last Monday Mon-day evening when the M.I A. gave a weiner and marshmallow roast. Games were played around a huge bonfire. Thirty-three Thirty-three persons enjoyed the com-' munity singing and dancing. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Haslem attended at-tended the party given at White-1 rocks honoring William Preece and O. S. Fry, who are retiring1 from government service. j Wayne Russon and Mr. and Mrs. Wendal Russon have moved , to Roosevelt to make their home. They have been at tending school at Provo, where they i took special training in sheet-1 metal work, and are joining their father, P. E. Russon, in ; business in Roosevelt. I |
