Show Mrs. Mable Jenkins Elder Jenkins Writes About S. A. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins received a letter recently from their son, Elder Jack Jenkins, who is laboring in the mission field in Argentina. He reported he had gone to another branch to help the elders paint the L.D.S. Chapel. While there he met Elder Collier from Vernal and visited all day. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dean, of Roosevelt visited last Saturday Satur-day night with ' Mr, and Mrs. George AlLred. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Luck, of Vernal, spent Thursday with Mrs. Luck's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Caldwell. David Burgess, of Ogden, spent last weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Burgess. Roy Warburton spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Warburton, of Deep Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Perry, of Deep Creek, were in town Monday to visit with Leland Perry. Mrs. Leland Perry' is in Salt Lake City helping to care for her father, Jake Rasmussen, who is ill at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Harvey and baby, of Salt Lake City, spent last weekend with Mrs;' Harvey's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Merrell Rasmussen. Meet Me At MIA Brings Success "Meet Me at Mutual" night I proved a big success here Tues-I Tues-I day evening of last week. A I program was given in the form I of a panel discussion, with Bish-op Bish-op L. J. Walker. Keith Hor-rocks, Hor-rocks, Dale Harrison, Kathryn Taylor and LaWanna Rasmussen Rasmus-sen participants. The subject was "Why Do We Like Mutual?" A skit was presented by the Special Interest group. Talks were given by Alvin Weeks and Eva Merkley, stake ' officers from Vernal. The remainder of the evening was spent in dancing. Choir practice was held Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Vera Bigelow, after which re-, freshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Joeberg, of Alberta, Canada, and Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Burgess, visited with Mr. and Mrs. Alma Preece, of Vernal, recently. The 5th and 6th grades, under un-der the direction of Mrs. Georgie Thompson, presented a radio nriwram Fridav afternoon. The subject was "The American Flag." Students participating were Theresa Angus, ; . Neil-son, Neil-son, Nila Wooley, Edna and Eddie Ed-die Gagon, Nancy Christensen, Carol Rasmussen and Jeneal Hanson. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jenkins, of Kenilworth, spent the weekend week-end with Mr. Jenkin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Swain and children, of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and Mrs. Lo-vinia Lo-vinia Smith spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Sike Thompson. |
