Show School Operetta Pleases Crowd The high school chorus presented pre-sented a pleasing operetta with an Irish setting to a full house Thursday night in the school gym. The 'cast of characters for "The Wishing Well," was as follows: Ter.rance O'Grady, Kay Wall; Lady Mary Donnell, Ver-etta Ver-etta Gomm; Norene, Lady Mary's small niece, Lois Sadler; Kathleen O'Mara, Joan Goodrich; Good-rich; Dan Tyron, Alton Thacker; Squire Matthew Baxby, Curtis Dastrup; Nora, Marva Atwocd; Darby Duffy. Larry Swasey; Maureen McGibney, Mona Miles, Molly O'Toole, She.rral Ames; Felix Murphy, Bruce Goodrich: fairies, fourth grade girls; fairy queen, Marilyn Young; dancing girls, girls gym class. The operetta was directed by Miss Afton Smithson, with piano pi-ano accompaniment by Mrs Edythe Hansen. Beautiful scenery scene-ry was painted by Mrs. Opal Gomm and her art class. James Bacon, of Roosevelt, head of the L.D.S. Indian Mission, Mis-sion, attended church services in the Mt. Emmons Ward. Sunday. Sun-day. According to Mr Bacon, several Indians living in this area were baptized Saturday in Roosevelt, and he was here to attend to' their confirmation pnd entrance into the L.D.S. Cvu'-"h. Due to some misundersts''r?. the new members were no present pres-ent to receive the rites. Mr. and Mrs. LaVer f'-mo-thy brought their n?" to Sacrament meeting Sunday to receive a name. The baby will now be known as Gregory Charles. Jean Mecham and Georga Case, B.Y.U. students, were in Mt. Emmons for the weekend. Jean will leave the B.Y.U. and Utah at the end of the present quarter to make her home in Ajo, Arizona, where her brother, broth-er, Evan, and her mother, Mrs. Ink Mecham, are engaged in business. Earl Case and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Case attended a cottage meeting, Wednesday night, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Goodrich, of Bluebell. Earl Cass ' was one of the speakers. Announcements were received the early part of last week from Malad, Idaho, of a new baby son born to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones of that city. The new addition to the family brings the number of children to' four, all of them boys. |
