Show EVSyton School News MYTON' ELEMENTARY We have started our yearly immunization at the Myton School. Nearly all of the students stu-dents are having the typhoid innoculation and some are having hav-ing the smallpox vaccinations. Parents and preschool children i wsre given their shots first. The youngsters cried so much and so loud that it made the students stu-dents nervous The first graders were th: first students to' get shots, and they didn't seem to find them to be so bad, but by the time they got to the sixth grade, the students were so frightened that one girl fainted and two others almost fainted. Most of the students stu-dents had never seen anyone faint. They were very excited. We are going to have shots again this Friday and the next. We hope no one else faints. The Student Council met last week and decided that since we had spent a great deal of money this year to build up our library, we should do something to students stu-dents who misuse the books. It was decided that students could check out books for one week at a time, and to fine them 2c a day if they kept them longer. Books that are left about the school building and playgrounds at night will be turned into the office and the student leaving them will be fined. Students will be fined the purchase price of a new book if they lose or destroy one. It was also decided that parents par-ents can borrow our books, using us-ing the same rules, if they will borrow the books not in demand by the students. We have a very good library for adult readers with many more books in it than in the children's section. The girls of the fifth and sixth grades had a chance to choose their favorite boys in dancing Friday, Feb. 29. Many of them were to bashful to ask the fellows. fel-lows. Some of the boys did not dance when they were asked and had to pay a penalty by singing a song. We feel that anyone any-one who has the compliment given giv-en them by having someone ask him to dance should return that compliment by accepting. |
