Show ieetcb-emett Mrs. Fern Houston Survey For New Oil Well Made B. O. Colton and James Bacon Ba-con surveyed the location for the new well to be drilled by Carter Company on the Nellie Whitlock place at Leeton, 3A of a mile east of the Leeton No. 1 on the Houston place. At present the rig is up and work is progressing on another well of a mile west of the Leeton No. 1, on land owned by Heber Peterson. An afternoon tea was given at the home of Mrs. Mark Ob-erhansly Ob-erhansly at her home in Hay-den Hay-den a week ago Tuesday, complimenting com-plimenting Mrs. George Houston. Hous-ton. Clair Haslem is home again after being in Salt Lake with his wife, who was taken there for an operation for gall stones. She is much improved. Mrs. Nell Horrocks attended a birthday dinner at the home of Mr?. Evelyn Brighton in Ballard, Bal-lard, honoring her on her anniversary. an-niversary. Other guests were Mrs Edith Allred. Mrs. Jennie Haslem and Mrs. Mary L. Kidd, from Vernal. Mr. and Mrs. Winfred Long motored to Provo Saturday to visit their son, Kenneth, who is j a student at the B.Y.U. They I also visited with Mrs. Long's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Young, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Coltharp visited Saturday and Sunday in Vernal with friends and relatives. rela-tives. Bishop and Mrs. Otis Horrocks Hor-rocks visited in Vernal Wednesday Wednes-day with Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ray-mond White and family. Mrs. Frances Bowen attended the meeting of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers held in Roosevelt Friday at the home of Mrs. John L. Gilbert. Clifford Drollinger. a member of the Roosevelt Stake High Council, was a speaker at Sacrament Sac-rament meeting this week. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horrocks, Hor-rocks, of Lapoint, visited Saturday Sat-urday with Mr. and Mrs. Del-bert Del-bert Horrocks and family. Frances Ann Coltharp attend- ed Primary conference at the Neola Ward Sunday. Mrs. Nellie Whitlock and Mrs. Audrey Taylor visited Monday in Vernal with friends and relatives. rel-atives. Mrs. John Haslem returned from Provo Saturday, after having visited for some time with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lewis, and family. Relief Society meeting was held Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Nell Horrocks. The Social Science lesson was given bv Betty Bolton. Phil MnKowen, who is serving serv-ing with the armed forces, was home on a ten-day furlough to visit his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burns McKowen. |
