Show 480 Barrel Producer . - Gulf Oil Brings in Wildcat Well Another producing oil well was brought in last Sunday by the Gulf Oil Corp., about 2 miles northeast of the Roosevelt Roose-velt Pool, which greatly enlarges en-larges the pool and adds interest in-terest to the oil boom in this area. Edward J. Baltrusaitis, Salt Lake City, area manager for Gulf, said the Lynn H. Whit-lock Whit-lock wildcat flowed a frothy mixture of oil, gas and water during a two-hour test between be-tween 9251-9276 feet in the Greenriver formation. Gas rose to the surface in 50 minutes. The water had been placed in the well as a "cushion" during testing. Oil flowed up the hole and out of the testing: tubfi3 through flow lines into pits near the well. After flowing for awhile, the well was shut in. Mr. Baltrusaitis estimated that only about seven feet of productive formation was exposed ex-posed during the testing. He said that casing may be set and the well deepened to increase in-crease production. A Tul?a, Oklahoma, production produc-tion officer of the firm was on the field at the time and estimated the well would make at least 20 bbls. per hour, or approximately 480 bbls. per day. However, with exception of the Ute Tribal No. 1 discovery discov-ery wildcat which came in with an initial flow of 1600 bbls. per day, this is the only well which has flowed on testing. test-ing. Other units flowed onlv after af-ter swabbing and other completion com-pletion practices. Thus the initial estimate of what the Lynn Whitlock wildcat wild-cat will do could be conservative. conserva-tive. The discovery now proves a productive area at Roosevelt Roose-velt Pool about five miles long on its northeast-southwest axis. |
