Show Bazaar Nets $75 ,. ?" Tuesday. Nov. 10, the Relief Re-lief Society held their annual Bazaar. They sold dinner at noon, with quite a crowd participating. par-ticipating. Some seventy-five dollars was taken in for the dinner and Bazaar. Quilting was done in the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hatch and family, of Heber City, have been recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hatch Burr Nagle, of Craig, Colo was a visitor at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook last Tuesday. He came to visit Or-lan Or-lan Cook, who had been his missionary companion. Nineteen of the members of the Junior Genealogy class met at the chapel on Monday evening, eve-ning, Nov. 9, and enjoyed an evening of pleasure. Games were played, a program given and refreshments were served. Three school nurses from Vernal, Ver-nal, were at Alterra on Friday, giving various shots to the children. chil-dren. Word has been received that Glen Womack has just finished his basic training at Ft Ord Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Jenkins and family attended a Lyman reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Taylor at Lapoint, Nov. 8. Mr. and Mrs. Warren H. Brady, Lyle Brady and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Scouter and Mr. and Mrs. Lionel and daughter daugh-ter were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Larsen during pheasant season. Word was received on Sunday of the sudden death of Robert Dean at Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Dean and family were former for-mer residents of Alterra. We extend our sympathy to the widow and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Winn are the proud parents of a baby boy, born at the Roosevelt Hospital, Hos-pital, Nov. 10. Ellon Kettle was called to Vernal, to act as a juryman last Thursday and Friday. Mr. and Mrs. George Pickup and two children, of Tule Lake. Calif , were visitors at Sunday : School. They were dinner -guests i of Mr. and. Mrs. Fred Cook on Sunday. Miss Evelyn Sabin, who is employed in Salt Lake City, was also a guest at the Cook home over the weekend. Mrs. Susie Asay, of Salt Lake City, is visiting at the homes of her sons, Seth and Zane Asay and families. Because of several birthdays in the families of Calvin and Spencer Squire, a birthday party par-ty was held at the Spencer Squire home on Saturday evening. PREPARATION MEETING FOR WARD PRIMARY Primary ward Preparation meeting was held Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Earl Winn, with 15 of the 18 officers and teachers present. After the lesson, Mrs. Winn and Mrs. Jack Cook served refreshments. refresh-ments. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lichfield and family were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Johnson John-son on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wilkins and baby, Mrs. W. S. Mann, of Vernal, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray. Mowrey, of Craig, Colo., have been recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson. SCOUT BANQUET A banquet for the Explorers and Scouts and their fathers was held Thursday evening, Nov. 12. The Relief Society ladies prepared pre-pared the meal and the older Bee Hive girls served. Some 60 enjoyed the banquet. Mrs. Keith Snyder and family, of Altonah, were visitors at the Charles Bingham home on Friday. Fri-day. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook enjoyed a visit with relatives in Bluebell one day last week. Two of the victims at the Bonanza Bon-anza mine were nephews of. the Cooks. |
