Emmons spent a few days visiting in Salt Lake City and Nephi last week. Sergeant Robert Snyder is spending a 21 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Snyder. Robert just returned from overseas, where he has been for 16 months. Mrs. Jenny Petty of Salt Lake City was in town several days last week, looking after business busi-ness matters and visiting her sister, Mrs. Hans Jacobson. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Foote and family and Charley Foote moved to Huntington Wednesday. Mrs. Thora Timothy and Mrs. Elsie Chidester are cooking for the school lunches, starting Monday. Mon-day. The D. U. P. held their regular regu-lar meeting Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Edith Anderson. The lesson was given by Class Leader Edith Anderson on, "Monuments of the Utah Pioneers" Pio-neers" refreshments were served to the following members, Mrs. Olive Beebe Mrs. Otto Murray, Mur-ray, Mrs. Bell Allred, Mrs. Janet Jan-et Beebe, Mrs. Vendetta Clark, Mrs. Henerietta Carroll, Mrs. Mary Bowden, Mrs. Mary Mary Carroll, Mrs. Ruby Powell, Mrs. Lila Farnsworth, the hostess and a guest, Mrs. Theda DeHaven, Jennis Oman of the U S Navy is visiting in town during part of his 21-day furlough. He is stationed in California. His wife also accompanied him on his leave, she has been with him for sometime in California, but expects ex-pects to stay here with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jacob-son Jacob-son when he returns to his base. Mrs. Olive Beebe spent the week visiting in Duchesne. Clyde Murray left Saturday to enroll in an electrical school at Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Jess Barlow are spending sometime in Provo where Mr. Barlow is receiving medical attention. Willard Dump returned home from Salt Lake City last week, where he has been in the hospital. hospit-al. Mrs.. Clarence DeHaven of Duchesne and Mrs. Delia Harris of Ogden were visiting relatives in town last week. A group of friends met at the home of Barbara Beebe Sunday in honor of her birthday anniversary. anni-versary. Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Murray of Myton were visiting in town Sunday. Miss Kcnee Everett of Springville Spring-ville spent a few days visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm Snyder. Mrs. Mable Stevenson of Mt. Home and Mr. Rando Rust of Talmage were speakers in Sacrament Sacra-ment meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Conklin took their daughter, Judy to Roosevelt Roose-velt Saturday for medical care. Mrs. J. B. Murray accompanied accompan-ied her son, Clyde as far as Salt Lake City Saturday to visit an eye specialist. Mrs. Mary Bowden, Mrs. Clinton Bowden accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Milton Anderson to Upalco Sunday. Mrs. Dallas Ames and family Mrs. Lee Jessen and family were shopping in Roosevelt Saturday. 1944-45 OFFICERS OF TOYACK CHAPTER The 1944-45 officers of the Toyack chapter are as follows: president, Howard Allred; vice-president, vice-president, Tom Dennis; secretary, secre-tary, Dale Cummings; treasurer, Orup Nelson; Sergeant of Arms, Lynn Dean; reporter, Donald Gentry. This group of officers will do their best to make this a successful year in the Toyack chapter history. Initiations will be held for Greenhands in October. Octo-ber. The new Ag. instructor. Grant Parrish will do his part to make a better and successful year in the Toyack chapter. Mr. Parrish Par-rish was an Ag. instructor at the Cyprus High school in 1943. FORMER RESIDENT VISITS HERE Charles Zimmerman of Murray Mur-ray is spending a few days here visiting at the home of his son, J. C. Zimmerman, Mr. Zimmerman Zimmer-man was one of the early settlers set-tlers in Roosevelt where he did a lo tof freighting. He is having a lot of freighting. He is having with old time friends. He also visited with his daughter, Mrs. Leroy Davis of Vernal. Chase Wattcrson has bought the Sawmill from Jesse A Fowle.r and is known as the old McKune mill. He expects to start work as soon as he gets a crew. Miss Elaine Timothy of Roosevelt Roose-velt spent a few days visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lin-ford Lin-ford Maxfield last week. |
