Elmer Apgood has been appointed president, succeeding Royal Horrocks. A farewell was also given for Clive Gurr, who has been home on a furlough, and will leave soon for another assignment. as-signment. Birthday Celebrated Mrs. Tal Wardle entertained a number of wee folks last Sunday Sun-day honoring the third birthday of her son, Allan. She was assisted as-sisted by Beth Shoell and LaRae Rhoades. Town Water-Users Reorganized Last Sunday, a meeting of the town-water association was cal-i led to elect officers for the com-' ing year. Ira A. Entertains Friends Mrs. Arthur Mitchell entertained enter-tained the following friends at dinner last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gardner, Mr. and Mrs, Lee Jensen. L. D. Gardner of Salt Lake City was a Neola visitor last week. Mrs. Chris Jensen returned return-ed with him for a few days visit with her daughters, Mrs. L. D. Gardner and Mrs. James Allred. Supt. Bond of Duchesne visited visit-ed the Neola school last Monday. Mon-day. Mr. and Mrs. La Veil Horrocks Hor-rocks and children of Salt Lake City spent the week end visiting visit-ing here. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Dye made a business trip to Provo last week. Mr. and Mrs. Alva Rust have moved into the home of Saman-tha Saman-tha Peterson for the winter. Mrs. Ruth Jensen attended Sunday school conference in Lcota last Sunday. Miss Betty Lynn left last week for Provo to attend the school of beauty culture. Mrs. Amanda Duncan and daughter. LaRene are visiting in Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Matt Zaegar were visitors in Salt Lake City and Magna last week. Mrs. McCormick of Kamas returned re-turned to her home last week after af-ter visiting here with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. LcGrand Gardner. B P W Meeting The B. P. W. club meeting was held Wednesday, September 20, at the home of Mrs. Bennie Sch-miett. Sch-miett. Miss Myrtle Davidson, Home Demonstrator from the U. S. A. C. was the guest speaker at the business meeting. Members Mem-bers present were Mrs. Robert Huish, Mrs. Paul Murphy, Mrs. Paul Wilkins, Mrs. C. L. Ashton, Mrs. Ray E. Dillman, Mrs. Norman Nor-man Murphy, Miss Loya Benson, Mrs. Ray S. Jordan and the hostess, Mrs. Schmiett. Just a Mere Club Mrs. Gladys Zimmerman entertained en-tertained the members of the Just a Mere club Wednesday evening. ev-ening. Luncheon was served at the Onyx Hotel. Those present included Reva Owen, Lora Kil-lian, Kil-lian, Lola Richens, Tina Wilkins, Wil-kins, Myrtle Nelson, Florence Adams, Dora Larsen, Dorothy Walker and the hostess. After the lunch they all went to the Zimmerman home and the remainder re-mainder of the evening was spent playing bridge. |
