Show Post-War Water Projects Planned For Uintah Basin Continuation of Review of Projecls Which are Receiving Active Consideration at Present, Says Congressman Granger Consideration is being given to extending the Moon Lake project pro-ject to some 13,500 acres of new lands in Duchesne and Uintah Counties. These lands include the Ouray Valley and Blue Bench lands. Additional storage reservoirs will be required. Vernal Project The Vernal project contemplates contem-plates the construction of an off-stream off-stream reservoir at the Stanaker site near Vernal, Utah, to store water supplied by a feeder canal can-al from Ashley Creek. A supplement sup-plement supply is to be furnished furnish-ed 24,200 acres of lands now irrigated. ir-rigated. About 60 per cent of these lands lie below the reservoir reser-voir site and the remainder are to participate in the development develop-ment by means of an exchange of water. Uintah Echo Park Unit The project proposes a high dam at the Echo Park site on the Green River. The dam would create a head for a power plant at Echo Park and also provide storage regulation for other power pow-er developments to be constructed construct-ed at points downstream. |
