Show Man, 77, Runaway Victim, Dies EPHRAIM Niels Christian Mortensen, 77, died Saturday evening ev-ening from injuries suffered in a fall from a runaway horse and buggy Friday about 1 p. m. He fell from the buggy, was knocked unconscious, and suffered suf-fered several body bruises, a fractured nose and concussion. He died Saturday evening without with-out gaining consciousness. Mr. Mortensen was born in Torsley, Sogcn, Denmark, June 16, 1867, a son of Jens Jacob and Bertina Mortensen. He married Engeborg Jensen in 1909 and in May, 1923, they and their four children came to Utah. He is survived by four children: chil-dren: Paul Mortensen, Ephraim Mrs. Anna Nielsen, Duchesne; Miss Marion Mortensen, Roose-ivelt; Roose-ivelt; Walter Mortensen, Hunt- ington and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were con-' con-' ducted in the L D S South ward chapel Tuesday at 2 p. m. by H. Alva Fitzgerald, bishop. Services at the house were conducted by Harry Gregory of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Gregory of Roosevelt were in attendance at the funeral. |
