Mrs. Ronald Page left for Salt Lake City Tuesday to spend a few days. Mrs. V. A. Bair and son Glen spent a few days last week in Ogden visiting her parents. Mrs. Clara Carson 01 laano Falls was in Roosevelt the past week disposing of her property at Montwell. Mrs. Peter Duncan of Neola was a visitor in Roosevelt Tuesday Tues-day and while here made this office a pleasant call. Wall Timothy is visiting in Roosevelt for a few days. Mr. Timothy was at one time Marshal Marsh-al of Roosccvlt City. The Misses Ruth and Margaret Jorgensen spent the week end visiting with their sister, Mrs. Richard Olsen in Park City. Mrs. R. Lamont Neilson of Roosevelt spent the past week end in Salt Lake to receive medical med-ical treatment. Wm. B. Wallis of the Vernal Express at Vernal and Mrs. Wallis Wal-lis spent Friday in Roosevelt attending at-tending the Indian Day celebration. celebra-tion. Mrs. Bill Murdock and small daughter of Houston, Texas are visiting at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Crum-bo. Crum-bo. Mrs. Harold Dudley and Mrs. William Chandler of Randlett were visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Colton Tuesday. Mrs. Evan Howell attended the funeral services of her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Cecil K- Bigelow which were held in Salt Lake City at the Sugar House ward chapel Friday. Carroll Robbins, employed at the Sterling Transportation depot de-pot at Roosevelt, returned Monday Mon-day night from Salt Lake City) where he has been assisting at the company's depot there for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Ferron, son Bob and daughter Margaret returned from Salt Lake City the latter part of last week where they had been for several sever-al days. Mr. Oldroyd is the manager of the meat department at the Safeway Safe-way store, Mrs. Ren Fenn who has been in Provo at the hospital following follow-ing an operation, was brought home Saturday by her husband. Mrs. Fenn is getting along nicely. Frank Andrews of Santa Monica, Mon-ica, California, was visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David R. Andrews last week, returning Saturday morning. He is employed em-ployed at the Douglas Air Craft factory. Mrs. Marva Corbridge and son Quinn- returned Friday from Lcwiston, Utah where Mrs. Corbridge Cor-bridge went to attend the funeral funer-al of her grandfather, Henry J. Talbot. Mr. and Mrs. Leroi Jones spent the week end with Mrs. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Wiscombe. Mr. and Mrs. Jones are teaching at Mt. Emmons; Em-mons; Mr. Jones is principal. Mrs. Ray Hopkins, the former Miss Margery Wiscombe, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wiscombe. She is living at Mt. Emmons this winter. Rasmussen spent a few days the past week in Salt Lake City where he met his sister, Mrs. Mary Webb of Durando, Colorado whom he has not seen for the past 30 years. He returned re-turned to Roosevelt Wednesday. Wayne Malin, owner of the Roosevelt Flour mill went to Salt Lake City Saturday to get Mrs. Malin who has been in the hospital following a goiter operation. oper-ation. They returned home Monday. Mon-day. Mrs. Malin is doing fine. Cpl. and Mrs. Joseph' Booth of Ogden, and Mr. Booth's mother, Mrs. Elsie Booth of New Ark, New Jersery visited the first of the week with Mrs. Joseph Booth's mother, Mrs. M. E. Ham-aker Ham-aker of Bennett. Cpl. Booth left Wednesday for Ogden where he is stationed in the U S Army. Altrus Club Altrus club met at the home of Mrs. Ray E. Dillman Thursday Thurs-day evening; Mrs. Ray Jordan, the president, called the meeting to order and Mrs. Paul Murphy the secretary, read the minutes and called the roll to which the members responded with current cur-rent events, Mrs. Homer P. Edwards Ed-wards gave a review of "Leave Her to Heaven" by Ben Ames Williams. Those present were Mrs. Nickel, Mrs. Marden Broad-bent, Broad-bent, Mrs. George Stewart, Mrs. Vean Bair, Mrs. Frank Orser, Mrs. Axel Birch, Bartley Heiner, Mrs. Hollis Hullinger and Mrs. Reda Baxter. Ladies Fish and Game Club Entertain The Ladies Fish and Game club entertained their husbands at the monthly party Monday evening. ev-ening. It was held at the City park, and the first fire in the new fireplace was made. A delicious de-licious pot luck lunch and wein-er wein-er roast was enjoyed, after which the evening was spent in dancing at the Legion Barracks. The club officers, Ellen Rawl-ings, Rawl-ings, Dora Larsen and Mable Allen were in charge. About 50 members and partners were present. Has Eyesight Restored Mrs. F. K. Smith who has been practically blind for some time has returned to Roosevelt from Salt Lake where she underwent un-derwent an operation on her eyes. Mrs. Smith who is 82 years of age is so delighted to have restored re-stored her eyesight. |
