Show SOCIETY JUST-A-MERE Mrs. Eddie Labrum entertained entertain-ed members of Just-A-Mere at a prettily appointed dessert luncheon at the Dick Adams residence Wednesday evening, January 8. Covers were laid for twelve, including Mrs. Reva Owens, Mrs. Grant Killian, Mrs. Ted Jensen, Mrs. Clair Larsen, Mrs. Tom White, Mrs. Reuben Larsen, Mrs. Darrell Walker, Mrs. Farrell Wilkins, Mrs. Dick Adams, Mrs. Verland Labrum and Mrs. Ray G. Labrum. Following luncheon tables were arranged for bridge. Prizes were, won by Mrs. Verland Labrum, Lab-rum, Mrs. Owens and Mrs. Wilkins. Wil-kins. THOUGHT AND THIMBLE A delicious plate lunch was featured when Mrs. Bert Burgess Bur-gess entertained Thought and Thimble at the Jack Redmond residence, Friday evening. Guests present included Mrs. Ted Jen-son, Jen-son, Mrs. Harold Dillman, Mrs. Art Allen and Mrs. Farrell Wil- : kins. NEIGHBORHOOD SEWING Mrs. Art Allen was hostess to the Neighborhood Sewing club at her residence .Wednesday evening, eve-ning, January 8. A delicious dessert des-sert course supper was served to eight guests including Mrs. J. S. Rawlings, Mrs. Roy Hall, Mrs. Neldon Nyberg, Ms. Harold Gardner, Mrs. Howard Andrews, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. Clifton Clif-ton Laris and Mrs. Floyd Labrum. Lab-rum. SOCIAL CULTURE CLUB A special meeting of the Social Culture club for the purpose of voting in new members, was held at the home of Mrs. L. C. Labrum, Lab-rum, Monday evening. Mrs. Lee Allred and Mrs. Bill Murdock were voted on and accepted. ! Members present were Mrs. Steve Bellon, Mrs. Clifton Laris, Lar-is, Mrs. Marvell Nelson, Mrs. Ned Bellon, Mrs. Reed Wiscombe, Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, Mrs. Parley Par-ley Rawlings, Mrs. J. W. Mohl-man Mohl-man and Mrs. Johnnie Cook. AFTON ROBERTS WEDS MAX HORROCKS Miss Afton Roberts, daughter of Mrs. Ella Roberts, of Roosevelt, Roose-velt, and Max Horrocks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theron Horrocks, of Neola, were married Jan. 8 , in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are now honeymooning in Las Vegas, Nevada. A reception will be held in their honor Saturday, Jan. 18 in the Relief Society room. Mr. and Mrs. Horrocks, who are both graduates of the Roose-veelt Roose-veelt high schaal, plan to spend the winter in California. NEOLA GIRL WEDS Miss Marie Allred, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Wesley Allred, of Neola, and Mr. George M. Conn were married Sunday evening at the home of the bride's parents. Bishop Rex Gardner officiated. ft DR. ISABELL ROLLER WEDS ERNEST ROBERTS In a beautifully arranged ceremony cere-mony . in St. Helen's Catholic church, Miss Isabell Roller prominent local chiropractor, became be-came the bride of Ernest Roberts, Rob-erts, well known ex-service man. Before an altar beautifully decorated with poinsettia plants, the marriage rites were performed per-formed at a 10 o'clock mass with nuptial blessing celebrated i by Father Wendcl Luetmer. The bride, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Roller, of Neola, chose a traditional gown of white brocaded chiffon fashioned fash-ioned with a full skirt, molded bodice and long sleeves. She wore a finger tip veil and carried car-ried a bridal bouquet of white swectpeas nd roses. A lovely corsage of white carnations and roses completed her ensemble. Her only attendant was her sister, sis-ter, Miss Fay Roller, who wore a jrcy suit with black acces- sories and a corsage of red rose I buds. Patrick Roberts acted as best man for his brother, Following the ceremony the bridal party, enjoyed light refreshments re-freshments at the apartment of Miss Fay Roller. A three tiered wedding cake frosted in white and silver and topped with a miniature bride and bridegroom, formed the center of the attractive attrac-tive table decorations. The new Mrs. Roberts is a graduate of the Uintah high school and of the Palmer school of chiropractic. She attended the University of Utah for one year prior to opening her office in Roosevelt, where she has been engaged in the practice of chiropractic chiro-practic since June 1945. Mr. Roberts, a son of Mrs. Thomas Roberts, of Cedarview, is a graduate of the. Roosevelt high school. He entered service in August 1942 and was assigned as-signed to the Army Signal Corps. He was sent overseas in November Novem-ber 1943 and served in the Pacific Pa-cific .area until November 28. 1945. At present he is employed in the lumber business at U-palco. U-palco. After a short honeymoon trip, Mr. and Mrs. Roberts are now at home to their many friends at their residence in Roosevelt." FRIDAY CONTRACT CLUB A bright spot on the week's calendar was the formal dinner and bridge party given by Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Ashton at the Roosevelt Hotel last Friday evening. eve-ning. A New Year's decorative motif mo-tif was developed with red carnations car-nations used as a background for a cupie doll, with streamers of red ribbons, representing the New Year. BRIDGE SUPPER Unusual and artistic arrangements arrange-ments of fresh cut flowers added add-ed their gaiety to the occasion when Mrs. Parley Lambert extended ex-tended hospitality at a salad course supper at her residence Thursday evening, January 9. Her guest list numbered twenty, including Mrs. Eugene Harmston, Mrs. Gordon Harm-ston, Harm-ston, Mrs. Ray Jordan, Mrs. J. V. McLca, Mrs. Wm. H. Ruppel.
