Show ftoolgrowers Call For Action To Bolster Industry Salt Lake City Don C Clyde, president, Utah Wool Growers Assn., today called upon all Utah sheep men, civic and community organizations, to join in a campaign cam-paign to bolster thc wool industry, indus-try, - - Mr. Clyde and James A. Hooper, executive secretary of thc association, also urged that all members of the association attend the 40th annual convention conven-tion at the Hotel Utah on Jan, 22 , and 23. 1 "At thc present time we have i no program for our wool industry, in-dustry, and worse still, no pub-1 lie lands program. At the convention con-vention a program must be worked out which will assure a profit to the sheep industry an industry which is responsible for a great deal of Utah's eco-nomis eco-nomis wealth," Mr. Hooper stated. MR. HOOPER, who attended a one-day convention of wool growers in Wyoming recently, pointed to a dangerous decline in the number of sheep raised in Utah during the past 10 years. "The sheep industry will pass out of existence unless ways and means are found to revitalize it." Mr. Hooper warned. j "It is only by united action of all states in the West that we will get the proper recognition recogni-tion before Congress, and that our position will receive the consideration con-sideration it should have," Mr. Clyde stated. Discussion of domestic and foreign wools and their relationship relation-ship under the 1930 tariff act, predatory, , animal a Vtrol and ! reciprocal trade agreements, will be among the important sub-' sub-' jects to be discussed at the con-', con-', vention. A controversial subject private pri-vate ownership of public lands will also come before the convention. con-vention. Other featured speakers will include Elder Albert E. Bowen, of thc Council of the Twelve, LDS Church, who will address the gathering on "Management and Labor," C. J. Fawcett, Boston, Bos-ton, manager of the National Wool Marketing Association, will speak on tariff and reciprocal recip-rocal trade agreements. J. M.
