Show He Is Risen By James O. Dean As the Earth awakens from the slumbers of the winter. . . so our thoughts awaken, and our faith is renewed. . . and we celebrate cele-brate the festival of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The word Easier is probably prob-ably derived from 'Eastrc,' a Saxon goddess in whose favor a holiday was annually annual-ly celebrated in pagan limes at about the same season as the observance of the rites commemorating the Resur-lection Resur-lection of The Lord. Easier never occurs ' before be-fore March 22nd, or after April 25th. In 1818 Easter Sunday fell on March 22, but not until this century and the next shall have passed on into history will such be the case again. ! Easter, 1948, falls on Sunday, Sun-day, March 28. On that day when we watch the sun rise as symbolic with new life and a new season, we will be reminded of our faith in God, in the everlasting life, and in the brotherhood of I man. We shall say, HE HAS RISEN. |
