Show Total Low Bid For Union High Is $613,080 A total low bid of $613,080 for the construction of the Union high school has been submitted for the aproval of the combined Uintah-Duchesne county school boards. Bids were opened Wednesday evening at the office of Dillman and Dillman, Roosevelt attor-nies; attor-nies; and Thursday morning the Union High School board instructed in-structed contractors to draw up papers for signature. The boards reserved the right to reject any and all bids if they were found to be too high. Three classes of "bids were asked for, electrical, plumbing and heating, and general. Thej low bid for the electrical contract, con-tract, $15,030, was submitted by the Electric Service company, Price. Bah: Electric company, Roosevelt, as second low with a bid of $16,636. Lcland Stevenson, Mt. Emmons, Em-mons, was low bidder for the plumbing contract with a bid of $82,950. H. G. Blumenlhal, Provo, was second low with $86,636. The general contract low bid was made by Ralph Childs, Springville. whose bid was $515,100. Next was the Christiansen Chris-tiansen Bros, firm, Provo, which bid $524,793. The total low bid is $12,339 lower than that submitted over four months ago and opened April 7, The low figure then was $625,419. Bids were rejected at that time because only $500,000 was available for construction.. Uintah county taxpayers voted vot-ed a $150,000 bond issue to cover cov-er their half of the construction costs last June 29. The federal government made $250,000 available avail-able by a special grant. Duchesne county school board members plan to borrow its share of funds on anticipated tax revenue. |
