Show " BASIN BRIEFS Staff Sgt. and Mrs. Norman Wells left Roosevelt November 13 by automobile for a 2-week trip to New York state. They will visit Sgt. Wells' parents in the Lake Placid region. Upon his return Sgt. Wells will make his headquarters at Price. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Curtis have returned to their home in Ft. Duchesne after a two weeks vacation in Roseville, California where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Palmer, former Roosevelt Roos-evelt residents, and with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Curtis, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Tom "Bunny" Hancock and family, of Salt Lake City, spent the November 13th weekend at the home of Mr. Hancock's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Hancock. Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Bodily and little daughter, of Seattle, Wash., and Vahl Bodily, of Salt Lake, were guests at the Homer Edwards Ed-wards home last week. Mrs. Margaret C. Callisler, of Heber, and Mrs. Elfreda Rcmund of Midway, visited Mrs. Mary Orser one day last week. Dr. Piper, of Vernal, was in Lapoint duck hunting Sunday morning, November 14. He stopped stop-ped at the Kastrinakis ranch for breakfast. N. J. Meagher and son, Nick, of Vernal, and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wheeler, of Whiterocks, visited November 14 with Mike Kastrenakis and with Mrs. For-akis, For-akis, of Lapoint, and enjoyed a turkey dinner. Later in the day they visited the new oil development develop-ment near Leeton. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bir-cher, Bir-cher, of Riggins, Idaho, announce the birth of an 8Vz pound baby girl, on November 11. Sho has been named Hazel Annette. Freddie Dart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Dart, of Myton, and a student at Wasatch academy acad-emy in Mt. Pleasant, was elected moderator at the third annual youth synod of the Presbyterian church of Utah. Miss Dart attended at-tended .the Logan meet as a representative of the Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant Presbyterian church. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Thomson and new son, of Burley, Idaho, m'cifnri 1ac wpfk at thr homo of Mrs. Thomson's parents. Mr. and Mrs. George M. Hardinger. Mrs. Thomson is the former Emma Hardinger. Mr. and Mrs. Van Wintcrton and family attended the Ogden Livestock show the forepart of November. Eldon and Keith both exhibited 4-H calves. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Giacoma and Mr. and Mrs. L.ynn uye, oi Park City, were guests last week at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Bcllon and Mr and Mrs. Roy Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Long, of Price, motored to Roosevelt a week ago to spend a few days with friends and relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Warner, who have been living in Wyoming Wyo-ming for the past year, have returned re-turned to make their home in Roosevelt. "If we retreat now, civilization is lost." Henry A.
