Show School Doings ROOSEVELT HIGH The Roosevelt High Mixed i Chorus, under the direction of J. Stratford Looslc, presented programs at the Myton Elementary Elemen-tary school and at the Duchesne and Altamont High schools Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon. Highlight of the week was the Freshie Frolic held' Thursday evening, following the theme. "I win I Didn't Love You So." Arrangements were in charge of the following committee: Joanne Walton, Glenda Rudy, Yvonne Fretwcll, Lcla Hacking, LaVaur Reynolds. Othca Duncan, Helen Allred, Leora Roberts, Winona Ewell, Carol Patry, Bob Mc-Arthur, Mc-Arthur, Kendall Schacfermeyer. School closed Dec. 23 for a two-week (almost) Christmas vacation. va-cation. Seminary graduation pins were awarded during the last as-1 sembly before vacation started, I and the afternoon was spent with j the entire studentbody enjoying a matinee dance. ALTERRA HIGH This was an unusually busy week at Alterra High. On Dec. 9, the students were entertained by a motion picture, "Our Town." The school band presented a concert, under the direction of Clyde Johnson, Dec. 10. The F. F. A. sponsored boxing matches in the gym on Dec. 11. The senior class presented their annual assembly. At 5:30 p. m. members of the senior class gave a program over KJAM. Onna Bartlctt read her winning editorial. Vocal selections selec-tions were sung by Lynn Haslem, Has-lem, Melba Rasmussen, Shirley Huber, Ona Bartlctt and Dale Patterson, In the evening the Alterra alumni team played Alterra's basketball team. The first game ended with a 25-25 score.' When the teams were allowed, extra time, the alumni brought their score to 27. The second game was -on by Alterra with a 28-16 score. The Sophomore Slide was held after the game. A basketball game between South Emery and Alterra was played December 13, with the Spartans winning, 37-24. i |
