Show EVlyton School Students Offer Christmas Program The children of the Myton school presented a Christmas program pro-gram which filled the school auditorium to overflowing, according ac-cording to Mrs. Grace Dalgleish. The program, "Christmas in Many Lands," was one of the finest Myton ever saw. Costumed to depict the country coun-try they represented, the young folks even gave serious minded Mayor "Bill" Linck a treat. The opening scene, presented by the first and second graders, depicted "Ths Nativity. This scene was followed by the"Firs-tcrs" the"Firs-tcrs" taking Spain in hand and giving the audience a look at what Spain was. The second grade came on with an Irish air, portraying the costumes and songs of that land. The 3rd grade students handled hand-led Russia, and they handled it with more finesse than diplomatic diplo-matic circles have heretofore done. A beautiful scene, portraying "Santa Lucia, Spirit of Christmas," Christ-mas," was cleverly presented by the 4th graders, who gave the folks a bit of old Sweden, in their stage offering. The 5tn grade students followed follow-ed with a Mexican home scene, with nothing lacking but jumping jump-ing beans. Holland came in for its share of publicity when the 6th grade pupils performed in front of a windmill. Wooden shoes clomping across the stage provided the atmosphere. France took the stage thereafter, there-after, and despite the political crisis in that country, youngsters with lanterns walked across the stage to bring a view of the old France. In this portrayal the kids went to mass in a realistic setting set-ting of a church backdrop. The 8th grade presented England, Eng-land, and carollers walked fake London streets to add color. The distant chimes of Old Ben were heard during the portrayal. The grand finale gave the audience a view of the United States and a splendid version of "White Christmas," sung by two students from each class. Several groups, during the program, pro-gram, sang songs in the native tongues of the country they represented. |
