Born to Mr. and Mrs. Aury Draper, Dra-per, November 29th, a boy Mrs Draper was formerly Miss lona Seely of Mount Pleasant Tho Parent Teachers Association he d their December meeting last Fr ay evening m the Junior High School building. An attendance of eighty were presont Mr D W. Gerret of the U. A. C. was' the speaker of the evening, and gave a most interesting talk .The remainder of the evening was spent in playing play-ing games and in dancing. Puffed rice balls were served to all Mr and Mrs. Carl Blake of St George spent Thanksgiving with Mrs. Orvill Johnson. Mrs. OrvlU Johnson has just returned re-turned from a weeks visit with friends at Eureka.' Word has been received here by friends of Mrs. Grace Livingston announcing her marriage to Mr L W. Slocum of San Francisco, California. Cal-ifornia. Mrs. Slocum is a formr resident of our city. A business meeting of the Home Economics club was held Friday December 6th for the purpose of making plans and arrangements for their dance to be held December De-cember 13th A large doll worth ten dollars will be given away to the person holding the lucky number. num-ber. Pop corn bolls will be sold Everyone is invited. Word was received here last week of the death of Mrs. Maggie Guy-mon, Guy-mon, wife of James Guymon of Provo. The remains were brought here for burial on December 11th Mrs. Guymon is the mother of Mrs. E. J. Johnson of our city. A turkey supper was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Mikkelsen on Wednesday, December De-cember 4th for the ladles of the-Ladies the-Ladies Literary Club and their husbands. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Fred D Smyth, Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Augason, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Christiansen, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Christiansen, Mr. and Mrs. N M. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. O. Allred,' Mr and Mrs. Theodore Christiansen, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Mikkelsen and Mrs. Rena Crow-ther. Crow-ther. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Allred of Centerfield will be pleased pleas-ed to learn of the arrival at their home of a baby girl, born December Decem-ber 7th Much" interest has been centered around the school grounds the past two weeks. Through, the efforts of the Parent Teachers Association with the cooperation of city officials and the school board, some much needed school ground equipment has been installed.. A slide, a set of swings, and a stride are the things which are giving the children considerable con-siderable recreation and exercise. new phonograph has also been added to the music equipment of the schools. This was purchased through the efforts of the school children, teachers and the school board. These improvements of play ground equipment and music equipment are greatly appreciated by all who are interestede in the schools. Stake conference was held here Sunday morning and afternoon and was a big success. The music was furnished by the Wales choir in the forenoon and Fountain Ceir ward in the afternoon was rendered very beautitfully. Hansen announces the marriage of his daughter Verl to Truman Brady of Fairview on December 11th in the Manti Temple. They will leave this week for Kem-merer, Kem-merer, Wyoming, where he has employment em-ployment and they will spend the winter there. A shower was given in their honor at the home of Mrs. James S. Johnson John-son on Monday evening for their young friends, and on Tuesday evening eve-ning a shower was given in their honor, and the married people were I invivted. A very good crowd was present at both showers where games were played and a very enjoyable en-joyable evening was spent by aa The honor guests were presented with many beantifnl and useful The Fountain Green Primary . teachers, officers and children made Thanksgiving very happy for the old folks in our community They made Thanksgiving baskets and ' filled them with oranges, bananas cakes and apples. Each teacher I took her class and visited some old person in the city. A nice pro-I pro-I gram was given in each home. |
