Show 1 1 j FAIRVIEW I By Sppecial Correspondence j Word was received here this week of the birth of a baby daughter daugh-ter to Mr and Mrs. Savona Norman Norm-an of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Oscar Norman spent the past ten days in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Tanner spent Thanksgiving day in Salt Lake City. Miss Ila Miner spent the past weekend in Salt Lake City. The North ward Mutual gave three one act plays at the North ward chapel Wednesday. They were under the direction of Mrs. Minta Rollins, Miss Becky Sanderson, Sander-son, Ivan and Kendon Sanderson. The plays were "The Convict, "Soul Mates," and "Conversion. The following people took part: Ruth Ford, Marion Tucker, Ivan Sanderson, Orin Barker, Katherine Sundwall, Othello Brady, Martha Rigby, Ruby Sanderson, Urban Bench, Ted Jones, Winn Tucker. Wanda Day, Reba Brady, Reed Tucker. Kendon Sanderson, and Ray Mills The Mt. Pleasar.t stake officers acted as judges and the play "Conversion" took firct place. Mrs. Lucita Cheney and Mr. Andrew An-drew Christensen were married at Salt Lake City last week. Wednesday Wednes-day evening a crowd of thir friends gave them a surprise party at the Cheney home. Patriarch and Mrs. Jordan Brady of Fairview celebrated their sixty-eighth sixty-eighth wedding anniveresary at their home Tuesday. They were married in the Endowment Endow-ment house at Salt Lake City, December De-cember 10, 1861. Mr. Brady is 86 years old and his wife is 85, both are in fairly good health. Mrs. Brady is the daughter of Edmond W and Sarah V. Howell and was born in New York, November 27, 1844. They came to Utah in 1852 and to Fairview in 1860. They have always been active church workers. They have eleven children living, eighty-one grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Their children are: Jordan H. Brady, Mrs. Easten Clement and Willis Brady of Fairview, Mrs. Mary Corn-um Corn-um of Colorado, Mrs. Jesse Clement Clem-ent of Roosevelt, Mrs. M Rasmussen Rasmus-sen of Colorado, Mrs. Horatio Cox of Buhl, Idaho, Mrs. Nephi Cruser and Warren Brady of Salt Lake City, Lindsay Brady of McCammon, and Mrs. Ray Stewart of Provo. A wedding dinner was served to forty guests. The annual old folks party for all people over sixty years of age living liv-ing in Oakville, Fairview and Mil-burn Mil-burn will be held in the high school Saturday. They will meet from eleven to 12. Dinner will be served at 1 o'clock. A good program, a picture show in the Laurel theatre, and a dance in the evening is being planned by the following committee, Howard Rigby, Ephraim Madsen, Charles Fowles, Thomas Rigby, Mrs. Rose Bradv, Mrs. Caroline Hartley. Mrs Oleah Cox and Ethel Stewart. The South ward Relief Society held a work meeting Monday. Miss Afton Odell of the U. A. C. gave a lesson demonstrating color in dress and in room decoration. Mrs. Kate Mills and Mrs. Mary Jensen demonstrated kitchen helps and Christmas gifts. The same demonstrations dem-onstrations were given in the North ward Relief Society meeting Tuesday. |
