Show N. S. NOTES A few years ago there were eleven little boys living in Sanpete County, (which by the way is located in Utah). They played as boys will play at horse back riding, swimming, jumping and running, all the time receiving little bumps and bruises at their play. Even Ev-en though some of them cried when hurt, litle did they realize all these things would make them big and strong to acomplish their work in the year of nineteen twenty-nine. Years passed by and the eleven little boys grew to be strong and healthy young men. For a time their running and jumping was forgotten, and they began wondering which high school they should attend to prepare themselves them-selves for the problems of life. It appears that North Sanpete High School drew, their attention and ai luck would have it, the eleven entered North Sanpete. As each one selected his course of study he decided it could not be complete without athletics. With this decision each one added athletics to his course. Three years they prepared themselves them-selves to play the glorious game "football." "foot-ball." Now that glorious year has arrived. We owe honor to these boys by giving their names. Vernon Chris tensen, .who was once a little, homely, white-haired boy, now nas grown to be a handsome young man, and the star player of the team. He is captain, cap-tain, and full back. Keith Allred is the husky fellow, who makes our touch downs for us. He developed his speed by running errands for his mother carylng parcels instead of the football. Jay Winkelman, once a bashful, little boy. is not only one of the schools' best looking fellows, but he plays right half back on the team. Eugene Peterson Pet-erson plays splendidly as quarterback. Verl Meyrick, a very good player, is plaving left half back on the team. Bert Everett, whom North Sanpete drew from Price, plays right end. Can he play?- We'll tell the world! Chad Cox the pride of Fairview, is playing lef t guard. Carol Staker is capable in every way to take the place as center in the game. Neil Hafen can play left-end as well as he can dance, and he surely knows his stuff. Rodney Brough-not only Brough but rough-plays rough-plays right tackle in the game. Ray Johansen is not too small nor too large to play left tackle well. Roy Mickelson plays right guard, and he surely makes the right guard. Now Students of North Sanpete, inasmuch in-asmuch as we have the honor ofhaving these splendid eleven boys to play and win for us, fet us show our loyalty by supporting them next Friday when they play to win from Salina! Come students, lets show our pep! |
