McGraw within the last ten years or so, are now managing ball clubs themselves. Only one, however, is in the big leagues. This individual is the once famous Christy Mathewson, vio is at the head of the Cincinnati Reds. Roger Bresnahan, once Matty's catcher, is part owner and manager of ihe Toledo team of the American association. Roger's team this year is composed com-posed mostly of former Yankees. Joe McGinnity, the real iron man of baseball, base-ball, is leading the Butte team of the Northwestern league. Incidentally, Joe is still pitching. Mike Donlin is in charge of the Memphis team of the Southern association and making good. Arthur Devlin, the once famous third baseman, is managing the Norfolk team of the Virginia association ; Hooks Wiltse, the left-hander, the Rending club of the New York State league, and Mickey Doolan, the Rochester club of the International league. |
