Show SPRING CITY Hogan Peterson is among the business busi-ness visitors in Salt Lake this week. Robert Dye is a Utah county visitor visit-or for a few days. J. M. Johnson and Maybert Strate have been in Salt Lake this week. Mrs. W. H. Sorensen departed for Wasatch Thursday. Miss Lavon Allred is visiting with her sister, Mrs. Hortense Peacock in Fairview. Mrs. C. H. Strate was operated upon at the Winters hospital Tuesday. Tues-day. Mrs. P. D. Allred of Chester spent a few days visiting in Fairview the fore part of the week. Mrs. Roy Johnson of Salt Lake is here visiting with her parents, Mr and Mrs. James Clawson. Grover Blain departed for Salt Lake Friday of last week, where he expects to find employment. Miss Ethel Ish of the Methodist Mission is a Salt Lake visitor this week. Gardner Schofield left Wednesday for Bingham, Utah, where he expects to find employment. Mrs. C. W. Nielson of Mammoth is here visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Larsen, and to attend at-tend the funeral of her nephew. Mrs. Isabella Larsen has been visiting vis-iting with her daughters, Mrs. N. C. Thompson and Mrs. Algie Anderson of Idaho, all meeting at the home of Mrs. Thompson in Salt Lake. The members of the Alethea club met last week at the cemetery and spent two hours in cleaning and beautifying places in the cemetery. Atterwards a nice luncheon was serv. ed to the members by Mrs. Stena Strate, who. resides on her farm near the cemetery. An error appeared in this column last week regarding the patriotic meeting held in the Lyceum Theatre wherein it stated the Registration Law was read by Judge Christensen. It should have read "Reading of the Registration Law by John S. Blain; Patriotic Address by Judge Christensen Christen-sen of Mount Pleasant." The 4-year-old sou. Matt, of Mr. and Mrs. Horace Larsen passed away on the way home from the hospital Friday evening of last week. The little fellow was only sick a few days and everything possible was done to save his life. Funeral services weie held for him at the tabernacle Jlon-dav Jlon-dav afternoon. John Blain. J. F. All-red, All-red, J. R. Baxter, Sr.. and Bishop All. red' were the speakers. Interment 1 was made in the Spring City cemetery. ceme-tery. The Members of the Daughters of the Black Hawk Indian War Veterans Veter-ans appointed a committee to meet with the city council to coop"rate with them in improving the city park, which met with approval. Arrangements Arrange-ments were made for beautifying the park and accordingly, fifteen members mem-bers of the association met Monday morning at the park and spent the day cleaning up and making the place inviting. |
