Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL Summer is finally here. Air conditioners are very welcome. wel-come. The raspberries and the cherries are delicious and plentiful. plen-tiful. The apricots are starting to show color. People are kept busy picking fruits and vegetables veget-ables for the coming winter. The area is becoming cleaned little by little. However there are many large holes which have been left from the former great flooding. Handcart days were appreciated appre-ciated by the citizens of all of the area. There are only a few more days left of July. August comes and people are thinking of school again. There are problems prob-lems of how to carry on the programs the teachers and most citizens would like, if the money is forthcoming. The Stone Creek Stake had fun at their Lagoon Day. Ruby Morris is home frorr the hospital, but isn't well enough for visitors. She does enjoy cards and letters. Hei daughter and granddaughters are staying with her to help. Welcome to the Bruce Maw family who have moved intc the house at 461 N. 800 W. The Paul and Norma Ander-sons Ander-sons are spending every weekend working at their cabin down at Fish Lake. The Evan Ashbys, married and unmarried had a three day family reunion down at Fish Lake for their celebration of Pioneer Days. Welcome also to the Johnson John-son and the Steele families who are living in the former Janet Howe home. Tami and Ryan Paetch of the Summer Tree Subdivision are glad that Ryan is recovering from his recent motorcycle accident. He was injured and hospitalized. Little Matthew Madsen, son of the Duff Madsens, celebrates cele-brates his first birthday next week. The Byron and Belle Rancks were down in West Bountiful to attend the missionary homecoming home-coming of a grandson. Jan and Bob Telford came from Rexburg to visit with their nephew Rick who lives in the former Robert W. Telford's Tel-ford's home on 8th West. Jani and Phil Alford also came to visit from St. George. All of the family possible went with Jani and Phil for their temple marriage. The family celebrated cele-brated after the temple session at the home of Melinda Bagnell and family of Bountiful. Jane and Melinda are also sisters. Robert W. Telford also joined the group. Lenah Casper is glad that her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren come to visit with her from time to time. Recently she had visits from Dee and Donna Casper and Willard and wife. The Bob Devereauxes have been enjoying the vacation water wa-ter skiing at Willard Bay. The Bill Birds have returned from their trip to Florida. They loved the beach and the fish fries at the beach. They enjoyed en-joyed a family reunion at the home of Alena Lewis and husband hus-band Delmus. Bill and Penney enjoyed meeting with brothers and sisters which they had not seen for a long time. They enjoyed en-joyed swimming in the Stix River. They went to Disney World and were sorry that it rained and was closed down. Bryan was fortunate enough to pick the correct oyster to get a real pearl for his mother. They loved surfing in the Gulf of Mexico. Bill went deep sea fishing. The Birds enjoyed the Hole in the Rock in Utah. Penney Pen-ney suggested that the family get together every three years. The Brandt Childs had a vacation down in St. George. Their daughter is still in the hospital in Washington. She is having surgery on her hands. Best to Betty and may all the work being done really improve im-prove her whole self. I Larry Call had a motorcycle motorcy-cle accident that resulted in stitches in the arms and legs. He also broke his thumb. Ben-jie Ben-jie twisted his neck and has had a neck brace after doing some tricks. Andy has had strep infection in-fection in his knee. We hope for better days for the Calls. Justin DeBoer has been in Oregon during the vacation days. He's been helping his grandparents on a trout farm. Dennis DeBoer won third place in a costume run. He was attired as an English Gentleman. Gentle-man. He also participated in "The Mud Fun Run." He received re-ceived a present of a bottle fil- led with muddy water. Dennis' mother LaVern DeBoer has been very ill in Ogden. Edith Deppe and daughter JoyLyn attended the Fred Deppe De-ppe family reunion at the North Salt Lake Park last Saturday. Grant Derbidge and his father, Spencer, went on an overnighter fishing trip. Mike Murphy, band leader and the members of the Viewmont View-mont Band are extremely happy hap-py that they won third place in the Philadelphia 4th parade. This was among 99 bands. They also won third place in the Washington parade, in competition with 142 bands. While Neil and Michelle Dennis De-nnis were with the band, Peyton Dennis and Denise and son Bret went to Disneyland, San Diego and Los Angeles. Tim Landis, a friend of the Dennis family from Florida. spent an overnighter with them. He was on his w ay home from BYU. Laurie Thornton was hospitalized hos-pitalized and in intensive care. Larry Dewell is visiting in Grand Junction, with his grandparents. Jay Dewell has been going on several river runs. Jim Evans' son, Dave Evans, wife and son. spent some time with- the Evans. Dave has been transferred to Hawaii. Two weeks ago Bill Goldberg Gold-berg and another outfielder collided. Bill received a broken leg in three places. Gin-ny Gin-ny Goldberg is in Philadelphia visiting. Ann Goldberg was honored at a slumber party for her 12th birthday. Maurine Bateman is again going to school at Weber State. . The Gordon Watsons had a fun lunch out on their front lawn for Wesley Papworth. His son Bryan has gone on another camping trip. The neighbors are helping to brighten the days for the elder Mr. Papworth. |
