Show Farmington Fiesta Days Honors The three day Farmington Fiesta was a great success, according to all participants, committees and those on the sidelines who watched the performances per-formances and parade, and enjoyed en-joyed festivities in the city park. THE CONTEST for queen, or Miss Farmington was very well attended, held in the junior high. Emily Lambert- was selected queen and will represent Farmington at various va-rious occasions. She played "Greig Concerto" 3rd movement move-ment in A minor, in the talent phase of the contest. The attendants are Ann Christensen, who played "Arabesque No. 1" and Joye Marie Lambson with a vocal solo, "Cock-eyed Optimist" from South Pacific. MISS LAMBERT was presented pre-sented a $500 scholarship by Peter Freed of Lagoon Corporation. Corpor-ation. Each runner up was presented pre-sented $50 from Farmington City. Beth Ensign was Miss Congenialty and was awarded $25. The parade on Friday evening even-ing was one of the best ever held, a perfect evening for the participants as well as for the many people lining the parade route, and to the satisfaction of the committee. THE ONE mile run was won by Rich McKelvie of Farmington. Farm-ington. The Grand Marshal award went to AM-PM Gas and Food Mart with Locomotive and they received a $250 prize. THE FIESTA Award was taken by a neighborhood float, $150 for the Bennetts, Tingeys and Asays. The Mayorial Award with $100 was won by Farmington Fifth Ward Primary. The best musical group was the Woods Cross Marching Band and a $100 prize. The senior drill "team and Davis High D-Ettes took a $50 prize. HONORABLE mention and blue ribbons were received by The Tippetts and Warners of Farmington Third Ward; The best horse group was the Davis County Sheriff Posse and the best horseless carriage was Jim Watts of North Farmington. Farm-ington. The five kilometer races were won by Dale Espinosa and Cindy Sorensen and the ten kilometer races were won by Brian Fuller and Diane Hall. THERE WAS food, games and many other fun events and games during the day on Saturday. The posters put up before the Fiesta were exceptionally good. Those submitting attractive attrac-tive posters were Jason Adams, Mandi Biehn, Jenifer Biehn, Amber Tippetts, Joel Tippetts, Justin Tippetts, J.R. Warner, Natalie Warner and Ryan Warner. ROGER CLAWSON was general chairman and Tami Mullins, assistant, many other committee chairmen and committees com-mittees did a superb job and all are thanked for their efforts in this three day Farmington Fiesta, kj |
