Show FARMERS ROUNDUP ROUND-UP ATM0R0N1 The "Agricultural and Rural Life" celebration held in Moroni on Thursday Thurs-day and Friday, March 25 and 'Jti, under un-der the auspices of the high school faculty and the student body was a great success. The large crowd of Triends and citizens in attendance from Moroni and neighboring towns was beyond the most hopeful expectations expec-tations of the faculty and students. Everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy en-joy the splendid program prepared. The musical numbers readings, etc., as well as the timely and appropriate lectures given by educators from the Utah Agricultural College and the University of Utah, were most interesting inter-esting and instructive. Indeed, the celebration stands out as one of the most unique and interesting of its kind ever given by a high school in this stale. The educators in attendance from the Utah Agricultural College were Mr. Carl L. Anderson, in charge of the boy's club work; Miss Claire Par-rish, Par-rish, in charge of the girl's club work: FroL John T. Caine and Dr. E. D. Ball, director of the Utah Experiment Ex-periment Station. From the University Uni-versity of Utah Professor Paul was in attendance. These educators were very happily surprised to see such large appreciative apprecia-tive audiences at the celebration. They complimented the people on the interest manifested in the problems discussed and they were very optimistic opti-mistic in regard to the benefits to come from a celebration of this kind. To call people togetner and let them hear discussed things of common interest, in-terest, in their opinion, was the most commendable way to create com munity loyalty and community betterment, bet-terment, which in ti.rn makes life in the country more enjoyable and profitable. pro-fitable. The high school play, "Mr. Easy-man's Easy-man's Niece," given Thursday evening even-ing was also a great success. The large crowd in attendance warmly applauded ap-plauded the students for their excellent excel-lent presentation of the play. The dancing party given Friday evening at the high school was the closing feature of the celebration. The largest crowd of the seasou was present. Refreshments were served by the Girl's Home Economics Club, and a very pretty exhibition was also given in folk dancing. |
