Show CLEAN TOWN CONTEST CONTINUED DURING 1915 Announcement Is made that a CLEAN TOWN CONTEST conducted jointly by the Utah Development League and the State Board of Health in 1914, will be continued during 1915 by the State Board tff Health. The far reaching beneficial results of the recent contest justify the utmost ut-most endeavor on the part of the health officers and other local authorities auth-orities in carrying on the good work Details of the contest will be furnished furnish-ed later but there should be no delay de-lay in beginning the CLEAN UP CAMPAIGN throughout the State. It is suggested that a "Clean Up Day" be designated in each town preceded by a public meeting called to discuss sanitation and practical methods of securing the most efficient effic-ient results, Including the appointment appoint-ment of working committees. All towns in the State will be scored whether entered in the contest or not in order that the sanitary standing of the various communities may be made public. It is hoped that the spirit of rivalry which has been so actively manifested in many towns may extend and become state-wide, thereby placing Utah in the position which her natural situation commands com-mands as the most healthful state in the union. Instructions will be issued from time to time, and an inspector of the Board will visit each town for the purpose of rendering assistance. It should be remembered that now Is the time to begin the campaign against Aids. In addition to the thorough removal from premises of accumulations of manure and all other oth-er forms of filth in which they breed, an inducement should be offered by local authorities for the destruction of the files first appearing in the Spring, which otherwise becomes the ancestors of the vast broods of the later season. Small prizes offered to children Is an effective method of ac-complihing ac-complihing this end. Fly circulars will be furnished 011 request by the Utah State Board ot rieaiUi. i |
