Show Madsen Reports Good Luck At Fish Lake Fourteen pounds of solid Mackinaw showed up at the end of 200 feet of line owned by-Vaughn by-Vaughn Madsen this week at Fish Lake. The Fairview elementary school teacher was fishing with his brother, Reed, and his father, Merlin Madsen, when he hooked the 14 pounder, one of the biggest to be taken at Fish lake this season. The catch was made with a brass Davis spinner and minnow min-now in the deepest part of the lake where the Mack schools run in the early part of the season, according to brother Reed. The Macks school up in the rocky bottom of that part of the lake, Reed said, and you've got to go deep to get 'em. He said the fly fishing was fair to good on the east side of Fish Lake with a No. 6 Fly. Meanwhile, it was announced that last week's winner of the Madsen Studio prize for the biggest fish of the week went to W. C. Anderson of Mt. Pieasant who boasted a 2M pound German Brown which measured 17 k inches. It was caught in the San Pitch river with a worm. |
