The boys were glad to be home and to visit their f.'iends and relatives. rela-tives. Mrs. Le Vern Blain is home after a major operation performed per-formed on her at a Salt Lake hospital. Mr. Harry Groner came home from his work at Provo the first part of this week suffering with pneumonia. Mr. and Mrs. J. Arthur Johnson John-son of Ogden were Spring City visitors the last of the past week". Mrs. Mary Robinson has been visiting in Salt Lake City a few days the past two weeks. Mrs. Vernon Erickson is slowly recovering from an operation she underwent a week ago at the Madsen hospital in Mt. Pleasant. The opening social for the Spring City ward Relief Society was held Tuesday afternoon at the Victory Hall with President Bergetta Jensen in charge of the program which was as follows: Opening was offered by Mary K. Allred. Song, "Sometime." An- ena Mickle, librarian and agent for the Relief Society Magazine, gave parts, with Athene Osborne at the piano. Songs were sung by several members of the society. so-ciety. Song, "My Task," by Jean Baxter. Gettysburg address, given giv-en by Ronald Coleman. A Skit by the work committe was given by Mamie Allred and Emma Soren-sen, Soren-sen, under direction of Ruth Osborne. Os-borne. The Theology group was represented by Halena Bunnell, who read a tribute to the Bible and My Neighbor's Boy. A reading read-ing by Vilate Hope, "The Soul of a Violin." Closing prayer was' offerd by Elizabeth Larsen. Refreshments Re-freshments were served in Buffet style. Mrs. Ralph Christensen entertained enter-tained Friday afternoon to a number of lady friends and their children at her home, it being her birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Parley P. Ras-mussen Ras-mussen of Provo spent the week end here visiting their sister, Mrs. Rose Schofield and other relatives rela-tives in this city. Mrs. Dick L. Ericksen and children chil-dren have left for Gardner Field, California where Lieutenant Ericksen is stationed. Mrs. Ruth Butler acompanied the Ericksens to California. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Beck spent the week end in Salt Lake City and Provo. Mrs. Nancy S. Allred left for Springville when she learned of an Automobile acident where in the daughter, Mrs. Ilene Miller was hurt and taken to a hospital. The accident happened Saturday when on the way to Spring City to visit with Mrs. Allred. Mrs. Marsden Allred was hostess host-ess at a family dinner given at her home here Monday, the occasion oc-casion being Mrs. Allred's birthday birth-day anniversary. Mrs. Ada Ellis has returned from Las Vegas, Nevada where she has been visiting Lieutenant and Mrs. J. Arthur Johnson and small son. Mrs. Allen Christensen and daughter, Poniel of Moroni visited vis-ited Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Easten Kelsey, their parents. Mrs. Boyd Allred is walking about on crutches as a result of broken ankle suffered when she fell at her home on Main Street last Friday. Mrs. Ila Williams and Mrs. Beth Hansen of Salt Lake City visited over the week end with their father, Lester Acord. William Schofield has returned from Triumph, Idaho where he has been employed during the past summer. |
