He is the f"oft Mr- and Mrs. Milton Oldroyd, Old-royd, former residents of Fountain Foun-tain Green. Mr. and Mrs. L. Edward Nielson Niel-son announce the marriage of their daughter, Jean to Ensign H. Jay Reynolds, son or Mr. and Mrs Isaac Reynolds of Moroni. The marriage took place Friday evening eve-ning Sept. 17th at the home of the bride's parents with Der Monte Madsen, President of the : Moroni Stake officiating. En-?i.gn En-?i.gn Reynolds left Sept. 23rd for ! the Naval Air Station at Norfolk, Virginia. The bride hopes to join him in the near future. , Private l'c Darryl Hansen, who is stationed at Camp Carson, Colorado, is spending his furlough fur-lough with relatives and friends m Fountain Green. . Sergeant Frank Johnson, who is stationed somewhere in Texas enjoyed a short furlough during the week with his father, Robert M. Johnson at Fountain Green. Private Kenneth Sperry is visiting vis-iting with his wife, Mrs. lone Hansen Sperry and relatives in Fountain Green. The Fountain Green Fair, sponsored spon-sored by the ward Relief Society organization, was a very successful success-ful affair. The ladies are very happy to announce the proceeds were turned into three $100.00 bonds, one $50.00 bond and one $25.00 bond. These bonds are for the new ward chapel which will be erected in Fountain Green after the peace has been won. The officers wish to thank everyone, every-one, including the stake officers, who contributed in any way to the success of this Fair. Funeral Service for Ross Johansen Funeral services for Ross Johansen Jo-hansen were held In the Ward chapel Monday, Sept. 27th at 2 p. m. with Bishop Gayle Morga-son Morga-son conducting. The ward choir sang, "O My Father" and "Resting "Rest-ing Now From Care and Sorrow." The speakers were Mrs. Martha Edler, President Der Monte Madsen, Mad-sen, N. E. Mikkelson and Bishop Gayle Yorgason. A vocal solo, "In The Garden of Tomorrow," "was sung by Mrs. Hilda Christiansen Chris-tiansen with Mrs. Vaunile Aagard as accompanist. Prayers were offered by William Colard and Ivan Bailey. Interment was in th e Fountain Green City cemetery under the direction of the Ursenbach Funeral Fun-eral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Ross Johansen was the son of Glen Johansen of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Rita Rostrum of Salt Lake City. He had lived at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mathis all his life, being an invalid since his early younth. Private lc Dern Chapman of Camp Carson. Colorado and Corporal Cor-poral Vern Chapman of Salt Lake City attended the funeral service of their Cousin Ross Johansen. Jo-hansen. Mrs. Caroline Llewellyn has returned home after spending the past month visiting her son, Rees Llewellyn at Ely, Nevada. Mrs. Burton Holman and son, Bruce of Rivierside, California are visting with relatives in Fountain Green. Mrs. Jay Oldroyd was hostess to her club members Saturday evening. A delicious hot dinner was served. Mrs. Oldroyd has recently returned from visiting her husband, Jay Oldroyd, who is in the Armoed Forces. A special program and dance will be given Thursday evening in honor of Private lc Ove Lund, who has recently been awarded the Purple Heart for distinguished gallantry and bravery at the battle of New Guinea. Private Lund was severely wounded at this battle, but is recuperating at the Bushnell Hospital at Brig-ham Brig-ham City. This party will also include the recent inductees, who are, Reed Oldroyd, Pershing and Emerson Cook and June Niels Huggins. It will be under the direction of City Officials and the American Legion. Music will be furnished by Revelers Orchestra. Mrs Libbie Robertson of Provo visited Monday in Fountain Green, also attended funeral services ser-vices for her nephew, Ross Johan- sen . Airs Florence Cook is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Chapman in Nephi. Mrs lone. Coombs of Ogden spent Monday in Fountain Green. Mr and Mrs. Norris- Cook are the proud parents of a baby girl born Sept. 22nd at the Dice hos- P1Mfss Edna Cook has left for Montrose, Colorado where she tvill attend school. , Mr and Mrs. George E. Cook and Mrs. Mary E. Holman announce an-nounce the birth of a grand-daughter grand-daughter born Sept. 21st at Mont-I Mont-I rose Colorado.
